Greg Lopez was recently sworn<\/a> in as the 220th member of the House Republicans, giving Speaker Mike Johnson additional support with the GOP’s winning streak in special elections<\/a>. Lopez won\u200b a special election<\/a> to replace former Rep. Ken\u200b Buck and will serve\u200d out\u2064 the remainder of Buck’s term. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity and emphasized restoring \u2062hope to the American dream and putting people over politics. Lopez’s entry into the Republican conference gives Johnson a three-seat \u200dmajority\u200c to pass legislation along party lines.\u200c Lopez has also stated that he will not seek to \u2063challenge Rep. Lauren Boebert, who won the regular primary in the 4th District. The Republican conference has grown in recent weeks, with\u2062 the addition of other new members like Vince Fong. <\/p>\n
