However, buried in \u200dthe abortion section of the document is \u200bpermission for the murder of unborn\u200b babies via abortion and in vitro fertilization. The platform fails to uphold previous promises to protect \u2063life at all costs and could allow states to\u2062 continue executing a high percentage of unborn babies. The resolution also leaves room \u200bfor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/to-be-pro-life-politicians-must-stand-for-all-babies-from-conception-even-when-it-happens-in-a-lab\/\" title=\"Politicians advocating for pro-life must protect all babies from conception, including those conceived in labs\">deceptive abortion ballot measures<\/a> and expresses \u200bsupport for the\u200c practice of discarding millions of \u200dembryos from IVF cycles.\u200d This\u2064 stance contradicts\u2063 the party&#8217;s claim of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/poll-supermajority-of-american-voters-oppose-abortion-past-12-weeks\/\" title=\"Survey: Majority of US Voters Disapprove of Abortion After 12 Weeks\">opposing late-term abortion<\/a> \u2063and fails\u2063 to prioritize the moral and constitutional\u200b duty to protect life.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The debut of the Republican National Committee\u2019s recently revamped platform was celebrated by <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/08\/top-gopers-surrender-on-abortion-leaves-their-pro-life-voters-women-and-babies-out-to-dry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">top Republicans<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sbaprolife.org\/newsroom\/press-releases\/sba-statement-on-gop-platform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">even some pro-life groups<\/a> as a unifying message that will carry former President Donald Trump to victory come November. Buried in the abortion section of the <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.nucleusfiles.com\/be\/beb1a388-1d88-4389-a67d-c1e2d7f8bedf\/2024-gop-platform-july-7-final.pdf?utm_medium=email&#038;utm_source=ncl_amplify&#038;utm_campaign=240708-2024_gop_platform_make_america_great_again&#038;utm_content=ncl-4NsN8UE5x2&#038;_nlid=4NsN8UE5x2&#038;_nhids=wmn7SYJe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">16-page document<\/a>, however, is permission for the murder of millions of unborn babies via abortion and in vitro fertilization.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s no secret that the Trump campaign worked with the RNC to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/03\/delegate-trump-campaign-to-gut-pro-life-platform-provisions-and-make-abortion-a-state-issue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cgut\u201d<\/a> the party\u2019s old promises to hold the abortion industry accountable and protect life at whatever cost. Sure enough, when the GOP publicized its 2024 pledge on Monday, its promise to \u201cproudly stand for families and life\u201d stopped short of delivering on tried and true protections for unborn babies.<\/p>\n<p>The weak commitment could be amended after review by the platform committee in Milwaukee next week, but it\u2019s unlikely that much will change.<\/p>\n<p>To appease demands that abortion for Republicans be a hands-off, \u201cstate issue,\u201d the RNC framed the 2022 <em>Dobbs v. Jackson<\/em> decision as reaffirming a \u201cpower has been given to the states and to a vote of the people.\u201d The resolution ironically invokes the 14th Amendment, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.archives.gov\/milestone-documents\/14th-amendment#:~:text=No%20State%20shall%20make%20or,Section%202.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">prohibits<\/a> the government from depriving Americans of life, liberty, or property without due process, as reasoning for giving states free reign over whether babies live or die.<\/p>\n<p>The GOP\u2019s deliberate failure to carry over the party\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MaryMargOlohan\/status\/1810341876287078619\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2016 pledge<\/a> to \u201csupport a human life amendment to the Constitution and legislation to make clear that the Fourteenth Amendment\u2019s protections apply to children before birth\u201d would permit states governed by extremism to continue executing <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/jonah_wendt\/status\/1810337955359150214\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">99 percent of unborn babies currently murdered by abortion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the RNC resolution technically claims opposition to \u201clate-term abortion,\u201d it says nothing about endorsing a federal law that would at least bring the U.S. up to speed with most European countries and at most uphold the moral and constitutional duty to protect life.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution also leaves dozens more states susceptible to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/03\/every-state-facing-deceptive-unlimited-abortion-ballot-measures-this-november\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deceptive abortion ballot measures<\/a> that, if passed, guarantee abortion through birth for any reason in even the reddest of states. <\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>In addition to giving states a free pass on abortion, the RNC expressed unwavering support for a practice that routinely abandons and discards <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholicnewsagency.com\/news\/257066\/more-human-embryos-destroyed-through-ivf-than-abortion-every-year\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">millions of little lives<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/art\/artdata\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hundreds of thousands<\/a> of IVF cycles yield big batches of embryos every year. Yet, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-2255107\/1-7-million-embryos-created-IVF-thrown-away-just-7-cent-lead-pregnancy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">only an estimated 7 percent<\/a> of these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-we-should-all-grapple-with-the-moral-pitfalls-of-ivf\/\" title=\"Why We Should All Grapple With The Moral Pitfalls Of IVF\">test tube babies survive<\/a> the treacherous journey from petri dish to freezer to womb. The remaining embryos are discarded or <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/02\/02\/theres-only-one-way-for-the-1-million-embryos-stuck-in-frozen-orphanages-to-make-it-out-alive-adoption\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">abandoned in freezers<\/a> after undergoing eugenics-esque genetic <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/07\/orchid-healths-genome-testing-promises-healthy-babies-but-delivers-morally-deplorable-eugenics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">grading<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Supporting policies that could easily be construed as offering a broad range of reproductive tech available to anyone and everyone, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/01\/22\/meet-5-accused-pedophiles-who-bought-kids-through-surrogacy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">including accused pedophiles<\/a>, who want to create <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/14\/california-bill-would-make-insurance-fund-unlimited-attempts-to-create-motherless-and-fatherless-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">potentially motherless and fatherless<\/a> children by whatever means necessary, is <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/20\/to-be-pro-life-politicians-must-stand-for-all-babies-from-conception-even-when-it-happens-in-a-lab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">simply not pro-life<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Instead of following through on the life begins at conception policy the party claimed back in 2016 by advocating for the addition of a <a href=\"https:\/\/prod-cdn-static.gop.com\/static\/home\/data\/platform.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">human life amendment to the Constitution<\/a>, the GOP has effectively rubber-stamped states adding abortion through all nine months of pregnancy and possibly even a \u201cright\u201d to reproductive technology to their constitutions.<\/p>\n<p>The RNC\u2019s new abortion and IVF platform hasn\u2019t simply stiffed the pro-life voters who helped elect Trump and so many other Republicans to office. It has effectively ensured that Republicans, not unlike Democrats, will go against <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/16\/poll-majority-of-americans-still-reject-democrats-unlimited-abortion-agenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">voters\u2019 wishes<\/a> on abortion.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Jordan Boyd is a staff writer at The Federalist and producer of The Federalist Radio Hour.
