Two other Democrats have responded negatively to the news, both suggesting that something must be done, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/rachel-maddow-show\/maddowblog\/aoc-fellow-dems-explore-recourses-supreme-court-ruling-rcna159919\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MSNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A post shared on Facebook alleges that Ocasio-Cortez was a recipient of a student debt forgiveness. One iteration of the claim shows the politician wide-eyed with her eyebrows raised, while another shows her in makeup and smiling for the camera.<\/p>\n<p>The text on the image reads, \u201cAOC Received $142K in Student Loan Forgiveness \u2013 \u2018I deserve it for serving my country.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The claim is inaccurate. The claim stems from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/too-bad-megyn-kelly-wont-back-down-after-meghan-oprah-criticism-deemed-racist\/\" title=\"\u2018Too Bad\u2019: Megyn Kelly Won\u2019t Back Down After Meghan, Oprah Criticism Deemed \u2018Racist\u2019\">satirical post<\/a> from an account called<span> <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ALLODRetro\/posts\/pfbid0gHwbNsErgt8zR3YCmPYSQy7goUjsg4ax2W9fWjD9zZ2jg8s7WjPML8FLUuC25Bxxl\">America \u2013 Love It Or Leave It.<\/a><span> <\/span>The account\u2019s<span> <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ALLODRetro\">bio<\/a><span> <\/span>features a Disclaimer that self identifies as satire. The account is part of the Satirical news outlet called America\u2019s Last Line Of Defense.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/dunning-kruger-times.com\/about-us\/\">website<\/a> features a Disclaimer that identifies the site as parody, \u201cDunning-Kruger-Times.com is a subsidiary of the \u2018America\u2019s Last Line of Defense\u2019 network of parody, satire, and tomfoolery.\u201d<span> <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2024\/07\/02\/fact-check-audio-starmer-disparaging-liverpool\/\"><strong>(RELATED: No, Audio Does Not Show Keir Starmer Disparaging Liverpool)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>AOC discussed her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/5-reasons-making-taxpayers-pay-off-student-loans-is-a-rotten-idea\/\" title=\"5 Reasons Making Taxpayers Pay Off Student Loans Is A Rotten Idea\">student loans<\/a> when she made a payment during a House Financial Services Committee meeting and told the committee that her balance was<span> <\/span>$20,237.16, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2019\/09\/10\/aoc-makes-student-loan-payment-during-congressional-hearing-loans\/2276327001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">USA Today<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time misinformation about Ocasio-Cortez has been shared online.
