The labels direct users to Facebook\u2019s Covid-19 Information Center, which includes \u201ccredible information\u201d from the World Health Organization and&nbsp;will appear on Facebook-owned Instagram as well.<\/p>\n<p>Over the next few weeks, Facebook said it plans to add labels on all posts generally about coronavirus vaccines that will point users around the world to its COVID-19 Information Center. More targeted labels about coronavirus vaccine subtopics will be added to other posts.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, a screen will pop up when someone tries to share a post about coronavirus vaccines&nbsp;on Facebook and Instagram that will \u201cprovide more information so people have the context they need to make informed decisions about what to share.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company will also take several&nbsp;\u201ctemporary measures\u201d&nbsp;aimed at cracking down on&nbsp;\u201cpotentially harmful\u201d coronavirus and vaccine misinformation,&nbsp;including restricting the reach of&nbsp;content from users who have already violated Facebook\u2019s&nbsp;policies on coronavirus misinformation or repeatedly shared content \u201cdebunked as False or Altered.\u201d&nbsp;The restrictions will also be applied to&nbsp;coronavirus or vaccine content rated as&nbsp;\u201cMissing Context\u201d by Facebook\u2019s third-party fact-checking partners.<\/p>\n<p>Users who repeatedly violate Facebook\u2019s policies will be removed from the platform, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2021\/03\/15\/facebook-to-label-all-covid-19-vaccine-posts-with-pointer-to-official-info\/\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg also announced Monday that the company is launching a global campaign to help people get access to the coronavirus vaccine. The initiative includes debuting a tool that shows users when and where they can receive the vaccine and provides a link to make an appointmen<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">t.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe data shows the vaccines are safe and they work. They\u2019re our best hope for getting past this virus and getting back to normal life. I\u2019m looking forward to getting mine, and I hope you are too,\u201d Zuckerberg wrote in a post on his Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook\u2019s efforts come after the company was criticized by lawmakers and others for failing to do more to combat misinformation on the platform about the coronavirus vaccines.<\/p>\n<p>However, the new policies are a shift from Facebook\u2019s stance last fall, when the company said it would not target posts talking about the coronavirus vaccine the same way it cracked down misinformation about the coronavirus in general.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf someone is pointing out a case where a vaccine caused harm or that they\u2019re worried about it \u2014 you know, that\u2019s a difficult thing to say from my perspective that you shouldn\u2019t be allowed to express at all,\u201d Zuckerberg <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/coronavirus-vaccine-facebook-mark-zuckerberg-9eae01a2-e6b2-4f4c-a48c-986bac665a2b.html\">told<\/a> \u201cAxios on HBO\u201d in September.<\/p>\n<p>Zuckerberg also warned at the time that if people are&nbsp;\u201covergeneralizing things\u201d and \u201cspreading misinformation\u201d in a way that could lead to \u201cimminent harm,\u201d the company could \u201ctry to take action against those.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
