Paul Hogan, a 61-year-old Australian school teacher and former administrator,\u2062 tragically \u200cdied from a fall while retrieving balls\u200c from a rooftop. He fell through a skylight at St. Margaret Mary\u2019s\u200b School in Spotswood, near Melbourne on June\u200c 27.\u2063 Despite being warned not to climb onto \u200cthe \u200broof, \u2064Hogan wanted \u2063to help ensure the children\u2064 had balls to\u200b play with. He was described as a gentle, calm, and considerate man who loved people. Hogan’s heart stopped for\u2064 seven \u200bminutes after the accident, and he sadly passed away. Dr. Edward Simons, executive director of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools, praised Hogan\u200d as a highly regarded leader in the Catholic school system during his 36-year career. The school\u2062 district has offered support services<\/a> for Hogan’s family, staff, students, and their families who\u2064 may be impacted by his death. \u200cHogan had previously served as a principal\u2063 at different schools in Melbourne and continued to work as a part-time substitute\u200d teacher after his retirement in 2022. <\/p>\n
