The proposed strategy involves \u200bluring and \u2062killing the invasive owls in specific areas. The plan includes using amplified megaphones to broadcast barred owl calls and shooting them with shotguns fitted with night sights. The agency believes\u200b that managing the barred owl \u2062population is necessary to prevent the \u2064extinction of the northern spotted owl<\/a> and protect other bird\u200b species<\/a>.
