Both religious communities\u2019 support for Biden is on the decline, a trend that could prove critical in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/swing-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>swing states<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, one in five Latter Day Saints members approved of Biden, down from nearly a third of support in 2021, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/despite-insistence-by-democrat-politicians-and-medical-elites-empirical-evidence-does-not-conclusively-show-that-masks-reduce-the-spread-of-covid\/\" title=\"Despite Insistence by Democrat Politicians and Medical Elites, Empirical Evidence DOES NOT Conclusively Show that Masks Reduce the Spread of COVID\">study<\/a>. The decline spells trouble for Biden in Arizona, where nearly half a million Mormons reside. <\/p>\n<p>The president\u2019s popularity has dropped even more with Muslim voters, where Biden has experienced a 12% drop in support since 2021. Satin Tashnizi, executive director of Emerald Project, a nonprofit organization that supports empowering young Muslims, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sltrib.com\/religion\/2024\/07\/05\/biden-has-lost-more-ground-with\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>told<\/a> the outlet the Muslim community feels \u201cincredibly betrayed\u201d by the administration\u2019s support for the \u201cgenocide of Palestinians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[As a candidate,] Biden expressed a lot of support for the Muslim community and talked about how Trump\u2019s Islamophobic policies were unacceptable,\u201d Tashnizi remembered. \u201cIt\u2019s now crystal clear that there\u2019s an inherent lack of value for Palestinian life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Allies of former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump?source=%2Fdue-process-is-crucial-to-justice-both-for-accusers-and-the-accused\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump<\/a> have jumped to take advantage of the division within the Democratic Party. Last month, the Associated Press reported powerful Arab American and Trump ally Massad Boulos is ramping up outreach to Muslims in Michigan. Boulos\u2019s son married Trump\u2019s youngest daughter, Tiffany, in 2022. <\/p>\n<p>The businessman believes Trump can make inroads with the Muslim community by capitalizing on fractures in the Democratic base over the war in Gaza.\u00a0Boulos has aligned himself with the group Arab Americans for Trump. <\/p>\n<p>In May, he appeared at an event the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/los-angeles-county-residents-launch-recall-effort-against-district-attorney\/\" title=\"Los Angeles County residents launch recall effort against district attorney\">group held<\/a> in Michigan attended by 40 Arab American activists.
