Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, has filed\u2063 a notice to sell 25 million of the \u200ccompany’s shares worth about $5 billion. He announced he is leaving Seattle\u2063 after nearly 30 years to\u200c move to Miami, Florida, where there is no capital gains tax<\/a>. By not living in Washington,\u2062 Bezos will save approximately $938 \u200cmillion in capital gains taxes<\/a> this year. The \u2062state of Washington has a 7% capital gains tax on \u2064 long-term assets<\/a>, but Florida does not have this\u200b tax. Bezos’ \u200cplan to \u200csell 25 million\u2062 shares of Amazon stock\u2062 will earn \u2063him $4.9 billion without having to pay Washington taxes.
