The Oregon Health Authority \u2063has announced a\u200b significant expansion to \u2064their \u2063Medicaid coverage, allowing individuals who earn more than the federal limits to qualify for benefits. This new OHP Bridge\u2064 Plan will extend\u2063 coverage to those who earn up to \u2064200% of the \u200d federal poverty level<\/a><\/a>, resulting \u200cin an estimated 100,000 additional residents receiving Medicaid benefits by 2027. Oregon’s Medicaid expansion follows in the footsteps of New York\u200b and Minnesota, but \u200cis the first\u2063 state to offer \u2063coverage at no cost to beneficiaries. Those \u200bin\u2062 the Bridge program, which includes individuals \u200dmaking $30,000 a year or families of \u2063four with an income of $62,400 a year, will\u200b have \u2064access to free medical, dental,\u2063 and mental healthcare. The state received approval from the\u200b federal Centers for \u2062Medicare and Medicaid \u2062Services to implement this \u2063plan under a Medicaid waiver, with\u2062 the majority\u2063 of costs covered by the federal government. <\/p>\n
