But anyone who\u2019s bothered to research the issue knows that\u2019s complete nonsense. <\/p>\n<p>The deceptive stunt came Sunday, when NPR\u2019s Hansi Lo Wang published an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2024\/06\/30\/nx-s1-5005001\/biden-voter-registration-executive-order\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">article<\/a> titled, \u201cRepublicans are turning Biden\u2019s voter registration order into a partisan flash point.\u201d The piece focuses on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2021\/03\/07\/executive-order-on-promoting-access-to-voting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Executive Order 14019<\/a>, a directive signed by Biden in March 2021 that ordered hundreds of federal agencies to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/06\/23\/yes-biden-is-hiding-his-plan-to-rig-the-2022-midterm-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">interfere<\/a> in state and local election administration by using taxpayer dollars to engage in voter registration and get-out-the-vote activities.<\/p>\n<p>Under the order, federal departments were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2021\/03\/07\/executive-order-on-promoting-access-to-voting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">required<\/a> to draft \u201cstrategic plan[s]\u201d explaining how their agencies intended to fulfill Biden\u2019s directive. The administration has routinely <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/10\/21\/the-doj-is-hiding-information-about-bidens-attempts-to-interfere-in-u-s-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stonewalled <\/a>efforts by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watchdog-says-ex-usaid-pandemic-official-sent-taxpayer-money-to-his-own-private-project\/\" title=\"Watchdog Says Ex-USAID Pandemic Official Sent Taxpayer Money to His Own Private Project\">good government groups<\/a> to acquire these plans by slow-walking its response to federal court orders and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/12\/bombshell-doj-conceals-records-about-bidens-use-of-federal-agencies-to-influence-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">heavily redacting<\/a> any related documents it\u2019s released. Agencies were also instructed to collaborate with so-called \u201cnonpartisan third-party organizations\u201d that have been \u201capproved\u201d by the White House to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/swing-states-are-using-taxpayer-money-to-turn-out-democrat-leaning-young-voters\/\" title=\"Swing states fund efforts to mobilize young Democratic voters with taxpayer money\">provide \u201cvoter registration services<\/a> on agency premises.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Conservatives have <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/10\/21\/the-doj-is-hiding-information-about-bidens-attempts-to-interfere-in-u-s-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">expressed<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/cha.house.gov\/_cache\/files\/a\/4\/a4c6721a-649b-45c7-b33a-46c6e57c94a8\/A9FAB1F7C47C3A909E7A08F0B2A7182C.2022.03.29-final-letter-biden-admin---eo-promoting-access-to-voting-7-.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">concerns<\/a> about this \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/bidenbucks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bidenbucks<\/a>\u201d order and its intent for years. But that didn\u2019t stop Wang from dishonestly attempting to make such worries a new, unfounded phenomenon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBacked with no substantial evidence, GOP lawmakers and state election officials, along with right-wing activists, have launched a barrage of claims that the Biden administration is using this order to overstep the federal government\u2019s role in elections, garner more Democratic voters and register non-U.S. citizens, who cannot legally vote in federal elections,\u201d Wang wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The NPR correspondent cited subpoenas recently sent to more than a dozen Biden cabinet secretaries by the House Administration Committee that seek to acquire records related to Executive Order 14019 \u2014 subpoenas which, as my colleague Matt Kittle <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/01\/15-secretaries-blow-off-congressional-subpoenas-while-subpoena-refusal-lands-trump-adviser-in-jail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, these officials did not comply with. Wang also referenced a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/13\/bidenbucks-order-will-already-have-done-its-job-by-the-time-scotus-looks-at-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pending GOP-backed lawsuit<\/a> before the U.S. Supreme Court that challenges the order\u2019s legality.<\/p>\n<p>Wang appeared to justify the order\u2019s existence by citing supportive comments from so-called election \u201cexperts\u201d and the <a href=\"https:\/\/uscode.house.gov\/view.xhtml?req=granuleid%3AUSC-prelim-title52-chapter205&#038;saved=%7CZ3JhbnVsZWlkOlVTQy1wcmVsaW0tdGl0bGU1Mi1zZWN0aW9uMjA1MDE%3D%7C%7C%7C0%7Cfalse%7Cprelim&#038;edition=prelim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1993 National Voter Registration Act<\/a>, which, among other election-related provisions, requires \u201c[a]ll departments, agencies, and other entities of the executive branch of the Federal Government [to] \u2026 cooperate with the States in carrying out\u201d voter registration through public agencies. <\/p>\n<p>What Wang did not mention, however, is that Congress never appropriated funds for the directives mandated under the \u201cBidenbucks\u201d order. Furthermore, the Biden administration\u2019s refusal to disclose details about the mandate have made it <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/01\/no-one-knows-how-much-bidenbucks-is-costing-taxpayers-not-even-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">impossible<\/a> to determine how many taxpayer dollars are being steered toward these seemingly unlawful efforts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>[READ:[READ:<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/02\/29\/9-ways-the-feds-are-using-bidenbucks-to-rig-the-2024-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">9 Ways The Feds Are Using \u2018Bidenbucks\u2019 To Rig The 2024 Election<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But NPR\u2019s bid to play defense for the White House didn\u2019t stop there.<\/p>\n<p>In claiming Republicans have \u201cno substantial evidence\u201d to support their claims that \u201cBidenbucks\u201d are designed to help Democrats, Wang conveniently forgot to mention how most of the so-called \u201cnonpartisan third-party organizations\u201d collaborating with the federal government on voter registration activities are <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/08\/report-biden-is-coordinating-with-aclu-other-left-wing-groups-to-interfere-in-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">extremely left-wing<\/a>. Records uncovered by conservative media and good government groups found that Democrat-affiliated groups such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/american-civil-liberties-union-aclu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American Civil Liberties Union<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/demos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Demos<\/a> are actively colluding with the administration on get-out-the-vote activities. <\/p>\n<p>The White House\u2019s use of taxpayer dollars to target and register likely-Democrat voters is even more apparent when examining the myriad ways agencies are complying with the order. <\/p>\n<p>The Education Department, for example, is allowing colleges to use Federal Work-Study funds \u2014 which are <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.ed.gov\/programs\/fws\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">used<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-joe-biden-used-taxpayer-money-to-buy-young-voters-in-the-2022-midterms\/\" title=\"How Joe Biden Used Taxpayer Money To Buy Young Voters In The 2022 Midterms\">provide part-time campus jobs<\/a> to help students with tuition costs \u2014 to <a href=\"https:\/\/fsapartners.ed.gov\/knowledge-center\/library\/dear-colleague-letters\/2024-02-26\/use-federal-work-study-funds-voter-registration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">employ<\/a> students by government agencies for work such as \u201csupporting broad-based get-out-the-vote activities, voter registration, providing voter assistance at a polling place or through a voter hotline, or serving as a poll worker.\u201d College students are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/08\/24\/71percent-of-college-students-plan-to-voteand-they-prefer-biden-over-trump.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more likely<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/circle.tufts.edu\/2024-election-youth-poll#a-majority-of-youth-say-they%E2%80%99ll-vote-in-2024%E2%80%94but-less-sure-who-to-vote-for\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">support<\/a> Democrat candidates over Republican ones, as <a href=\"https:\/\/circle.tufts.edu\/latest-research\/millions-youth-cast-ballots-decide-key-2022-races\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">analyses<\/a> of the 2022 midterm election results have shown. <\/p>\n<p>Other Democrat-friendly demographics <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/02\/29\/9-ways-the-feds-are-using-bidenbucks-to-rig-the-2024-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">targeted<\/a> by the administration include Native Americans, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/13\/doj-is-using-bidenbucks-to-encourage-illegals-and-felons-to-vote-says-mississippi-secretary-of-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">felons<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/29\/biden-admins-voter-drive-for-newly-naturalized-citizens-is-just-another-act-of-federal-election-interference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">immigrants<\/a>, and federal workers. GOP election officials such as Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson have also expressed concerns the order could be used to register <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/13\/doj-is-using-bidenbucks-to-encourage-illegals-and-felons-to-vote-says-mississippi-secretary-of-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">illegal aliens<\/a> to vote. <\/p>\n<p>Asking NPR to be honest with its readers about \u201cBidenbucks\u201d is like asking Biden to make it through a speech without saying something incoherent.
