return false;\" title=\"Printer Friendly, PDF &#038; Email\"><span id=\"printfriendly-text2\" class=\"pf-button-text\"><i class=\"mdi mdi-printer\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<p>Coming on the heels of his <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/28\/here-are-the-20-biggest-whoppers-biden-told-during-his-debate-with-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lie-filled<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/01\/democrat-media-arent-upset-biden-is-senile-theyre-mad-they-cant-hide-it-anymore\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">disastrous<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/28\/biden-just-put-on-the-most-disastrous-debate-performance-in-presidential-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">debate performance<\/a> last week, President Biden attacked the Supreme Court on Monday evening for stymying his Justice Department\u2019s attempt to imprison Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEach of us is equal before the law. \u2026 No one is above the law, not even the president of the United States,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=CL1GXCOfWI8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> Biden, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2644271\/biden-brags-about-defying-supreme-court-and-relieving-136-million-student-loan-debts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">regularly<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/joe-biden-student-debt-forgiveness-supreme-court-0c5204fe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">brags<\/a> about defying the Supreme Court. \u201cBut [with] today\u2019s Supreme Court decision on presidential immunity, that fundamentally changed.\u201d<\/p>\n<div  class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-89636b4cdb33e5aed78f51ec35147798 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-89636b4cdb33e5aed78f51ec35147798\"><\/div>\n<p>The remarks came in response to the high court\u2019s Monday ruling on whether presidents possess lifelong immunity from criminal prosecutions and if they can be charged for actions they took while in office that fall within the scope of their official duties as president. The case centered on Special Counsel Jack Smith\u2019s lawfare against Trump ahead of the 2024 election. Smith <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/01\/biden-delivers-another-blow-against-his-primary-political-rival-with-latest-trump-indictment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">indicted<\/a> Trump last year related to the demonstrations at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>In a 6-3 decision, the court\u2019s majority, as my colleague Brianna Lyman <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/01\/scotus-immunity-ruling-further-delays-trump-trial-in-jack-smiths-d-c-lawfare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">summarized<\/a>, ruled \u201cthat presidents have \u2018absolute immunity\u2019 for \u2018actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority\u2019 and \u2018at least presumptive immunity\u2019 for all \u2018official acts.&#8217;\u201d The majority did not grant immunity for \u201cunofficial acts\u201d and remanded the case back to the lower courts to determine whether Trump\u2019s actions, as alleged by Smith, constitute \u201cofficial acts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reading from the White House teleprompter, a noticeably tan Biden falsely claimed SCOTUS\u2019s decision \u201calmost certainly means there are virtually no limits on what a president can do.\u201d The president further contended the high court\u2019s affirmation of existing law sets \u201ca dangerous precedent because the power of the office will no longer be constrained by the law, even including the Supreme Court of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As Judicial Crisis Network President Carrie Severino <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JCNSeverino\/status\/1807842032158666800\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">noted<\/a>, Chief Justice John Roberts \u201cexplicitly\u201d wrote in his majority opinion, \u201cThe President is not above the law.\u201d<\/p>\n<div  class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-7e0a0397997711af3f3fd07af05258d9 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-7e0a0397997711af3f3fd07af05258d9\"><\/div>\n<p>Biden used Monday\u2019s speech to further attack the Supreme Court for issuing rulings Democrats don\u2019t like.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis decision today has continued the court\u2019s attack in recent years on a wide range of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-condemns-supreme-courts-trump-immunity-decision-as-terrible-disservice-to-voters-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Biden condemns Supreme Court\u2019s Trump immunity decision as \u2018terrible disservice\u2019 to voters - Washington Examiner\">long-established legal principles<\/a> in our nation,\u201d Biden claimed. \u201cFrom gutting voting rights and civil rights, to taking away a woman\u2019s right to choose, to today\u2019s decision that undermines the rule of law of this nation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>[READ:[READ:<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/01\/leftists-falsely-suggest-biden-can-assassinate-trump-scotus-justices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Leftists Falsely Suggest Biden Can Assassinate Trump, SCOTUS Justices<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He also tacitly admitted SCOTUS\u2019s decision hampers his administration\u2019s efforts to imprison Trump before the 2024 election and seemingly complained that voters \u2014 not his corrupt DOJ \u2014 will have the final say on Trump\u2019s \u201cbehavior\u201d related to the events of Jan. 6.<\/p>\n<div  class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ce806a231b14ed37d5bb93ab39cec90c fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ce806a231b14ed37d5bb93ab39cec90c\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe American people must decide if they want to entrust \u2026 the presidency to Donald Trump, now knowing he\u2019ll be more emboldened to do whatever he pleases whenever he wants to do it,\u201d Biden said.<\/p>\n<p>Monday was hardly the first time Biden has used his position as president to undermine the Supreme Court, one of the last <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/04\/the-supreme-court-is-the-last-functioning-institution-in-america\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">functioning<\/a> American institutions Democrats don\u2019t control.<\/p>\n<p>During his State of the Union address in March, for instance, the president <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/07\/biden-threatens-supreme-court-justices-for-upholding-the-constitution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">threatened<\/a> the attending Supreme Court justices to their faces. Referencing the court\u2019s overturning of <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>, Biden said: \u201cWith all due respect, justices, women are not without electoral, electoral power \u2014 excuse me \u2014 electoral or political power. You\u2019re about to realize just how much you\u2019re right about that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s attacks come as part of Democrats and their media allies\u2019 seemingly coordinated campaign to delegitimize the high court\u2019s Republican appointees.
