He has made this claim on the campaign trail, at his political rallies, and again last week in the debate against President Joe Biden. However, Russia\u2019s ambassador to the United Nations disputed Trump\u2019s statement, saying the former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-gives-updates-on-potential-2024-run-wont-say-whether-pence-would-be-his-running-mate\/\" title=\"Trump Gives Updates On Potential 2024 Run, Won\u2019t Say Whether Pence Would Be His Running Mate\">president wouldn\u2019<\/a>t be able to end the war in a day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will have that war settled between Putin and (Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelenskiy as president-elect before I take office on January 20th. I\u2019ll have that war settled,\u201d <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/europe\/trump-russia-un-envoy-says-ukraine-war-cant-end-one-day-2024-07-01\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trump said last week during the debate<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019ll get it settled fast, before I take office.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During a press conference at the United Nations on Monday, where the Russian Federation assumed the United Nations Security Council presidency, Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia was asked about Trump\u2019s assertion on ending the war. President Putin recently said where we are in the Ukrainian crisis of today.
