Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), who argued that the conservative majority of the Supreme Court will be seen as \u201cextreme &#038; nakedly partisan hacks\u201d after its decision in <em>Trump v. United States<\/em>. The Constitution and common sense demonstrate that the Justice Department can\u2019t prosecute a president, not criminally, for an official act. It can for a personal act. He contended that <em>Trump v. United States<\/em> was politically motivated from the start and that it was not hard for the Supreme Court to come to its conclusion.<\/p>\n<p>The Louisiana senator was also asked about a recent statement from House Minority Leader <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/hakeem-jeffries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Hakeem Jeffries<\/a> (D-NY) that said House Democrats would engage in \u201caggressive oversight and legislative activity\u201d regarding the Supreme Court.
