While Friske was released with no charges, records obtained by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freep.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2024\/06\/21\/michigan-neil-friske-charges-assault-weapon\/74167129007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><em>Detroit Free Press<\/em><\/a>  show Lansing, Michigan, police requested felony charges of sexual assault, assault, and a weapons-related offense against Friske on the night of his arrest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDue to the ongoing investigation, there are details I cannot disclose at the moment,\u201d Friske wrote in his statement. \u201cWhat I can say is that the police were called, resulting in being detained due to false accusations. However, upon initial investigation, no evidence was found to support the claims and I was subsequently released with no charges.
