The \u2064summary\u2062 also \u200bdelves into Biden&#8217;s misleading statements about abortion policy\u2064 and\u2064 his questionable actions as president,\u200d such as circumventing\u2062 Congress and delegitimizing the Supreme Court. it\u2062 criticizes Biden&#8217;s dishonesty and \u2064lack of accountability in various areas\u200b of his presidency.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Joe Biden may have stumbled in the face of Donald Trump\u2019s torrent of falsehoods last week, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CBSSunday\/status\/1807434265073754345\">explains<\/a> CBS News\u2019 John Dickerson, but which is worse, a liar or a fragile truthteller?\u00a0This is the false choice many in political media have come up with to help mitigate the fallout from the president\u2019s historically disastrous <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/28\/biden-just-put-on-the-most-disastrous-debate-performance-in-presidential-history\/\">debate performance<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Trump lied. And, yes, Biden stumbled \u2014 <em>and<\/em> blatantly and repeatedly lied.<\/p>\n<p>For starters, Biden\u2019s personal accusations about Trump\u2019s alleged nihilism and extremism were all based on <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/28\/here-are-the-20-biggest-whoppers-biden-told-during-his-debate-with-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">debunked<\/a> claims. Like Trump or hate him, he never told Americans to inject themselves with \u201cbleach\u201d and he never called tiki-torch cosplay Nazis \u201cvery fine people\u201d and there is no evidence he ever said, \u201cHitler has done some good things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It just got worse. We know Biden lied when claiming Trump \u201cdid nothing\u201d about Iran, because after the Republican withdrew the United States from Barack Obama\u2019s giveaway to the mullahs in 2017, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/07\/13\/politics\/biden-iran-israel-trip\/index.html#:~:text=Paris%20Olympics-,Biden%20says%20Trump%20made%20'gigantic%20mistake'%20withdrawing,US%20from%20Iran%20nuclear%20deal&#038;text=President%20Joe%20Biden%20said%20in,to%20acquiring%20a%20nuclear%20weapon.\">condemned<\/a> the move publicly on numerous occasions. Biden did the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JoeBiden\/status\/1212954848666234880?lang=en\">same thing<\/a> when Trump atomized Iranian terror mastermind Qassem Soleimani, who was behind the murder of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/News\/Releases\/Release\/Article\/2049534\/statement-by-the-department-of-defense\/#:~:text=General%20Soleimani%20was%20actively%20developing,the%20wounding%20of%20thousands%20more.\">hundreds<\/a> of American servicemen.<\/p>\n<p>Was Biden telling the truth when he said inflation was at 9 percent when he entered into office? Because it was <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/28\/here-are-the-20-biggest-whoppers-biden-told-during-his-debate-with-trump\/\">1.4 percent<\/a>. Surely Dickerson remembers the president <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/06\/01\/yes-biden-deserves-the-blame-for-inflation\/\">assuring<\/a> the country that price spikes under his watch were just a transitory glitch, to give cover to Democrats who worked to ram through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2021\/aug\/9\/democrats-unveil-largest-spending-bill-us-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">largest<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/rollcall.com\/2022\/07\/21\/how-build-back-better-started-and-how-its-going-a-timeline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">spending bill<\/a><strong> <\/strong>in history despite warnings from economists.<\/p>\n<p>Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/28\/here-are-the-20-biggest-whoppers-biden-told-during-his-debate-with-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claimed<\/a> he was the \u201conly president this \u2026 decade\u201d who \u201cdoesn\u2019t have any troops dying anywhere in the world,\u201d when everyone knows 13 were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2022\/02\/the-afghanistan-debacle-looks-worse-and-worse\/\">killed<\/a> during the administration\u2019s embarrassingly incompetent Afghanistan withdrawal. That was a lie. As was Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/carriesheffield\/status\/1806518928748745200\">contention<\/a> that the Border Patrol union endorsed him or that border crossings were <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/28\/bidens-border-lies-catch-up-with-him-in-first-debate\/\">down<\/a> 40 percent since Trump left office.<\/p>\n<p>These are lies about defining issues of Biden\u2019s presidency. Inflation. The border. Foreign policy. We also shouldn\u2019t forget that Biden would be impelled to lie<em> a lot <\/em>more if he were regularly asked tough questions.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s maximalist rhetoric \u2014 with his \u201ceverythings\u201d and \u201ceveryones\u201d and \u201cbests\u201d and \u201cworsts\u201d \u2014 is meticulously fact-checked by the media. And that\u2019s fine. Trump, for instance, was wrong to say \u201cevery\u201d legal scholar believed <em>Roe v Wade<\/em> was a garbage decision. Then again, <em>many <\/em>law experts, right and left, believed <em>Roe<\/em> was poorly decided, including one-time constitutional <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jstor.org\/stable\/1339866\">expert<\/a> Laurence Tribe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/once-a-champion-of-life-joe-biden-is-narals-man-now\/\">and<\/a> top law school graduate Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s lies about abortion policy are more consequential to voters. In a barely coherent answer, the president said he supported <em>Roe<\/em> and that <em>Roe<\/em> didn\u2019t allow elective third-trimester abortions. But that\u2019s not true. And no matter how many times the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/media-big-tech-take-great-pains-to-bury-pfizer-mutate-video\/\" title=\"Media, Big Tech Take Great Pains to Bury Pfizer \u201cMutate\u201d Video\">media fact-checks<\/a> those who point this out, or tell us how \u201crare\u201d late-term procedures are, Democrats do not support <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/09\/of-course-democrats-support-abortion-on-demand-until-the-moment-of-birth\/\">any legal restriction on abortion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dickerson says one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rep-biggs-discusses-importance-of-pushing-back-against-censorship\/\" title=\"Rep. Biggs discusses importance of pushing back against censorship\">big issues facing<\/a> the country is \u201cprotecting democracy.\u201d It\u2019s weird, then, that reporters don\u2019t ask the\u00a0president why he keeps circumventing Congress and unconstitutionally \u201cforgiving\u201d student loans, among other executive abuses. Or why does he delegitimize the Supreme Court? Why does no one ask Biden why he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/joe-biden-says-he-agrees-trump-is-illegitimate-president-2019-5\">called<\/a> Trump an \u201cillegitimate president?\u201d Or why he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/theoval\/2013\/06\/12\/biden-gore-george-w-bush-2000-election\/2414933\/\">refuses to accept<\/a> the results of the 2000 election. Or why, in the run-up to the 2022 midterms, he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2022\/01\/biden-is-not-alone-democrats-have-been-delegitimizing-elections-for-years\/\">preemptively<\/a> claimed that the election wouldn\u2019t be \u201cfair\u201d unless the filibuster was blown up and Democrats could pass election \u201creform?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s not forget, either, that Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/12\/05\/a-short-history-of-joes-long-record-of-lying-about-biden-inc\/\">lied<\/a> about his knowledge of the family\u2019s influence-peddling business. Why isn\u2019t he asked to explain? Only recently Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/12\/turns-out-biden-lied-about-hur-beau-and-why-he-pilfered-classified-documents\/\">lied<\/a> about what was said in a conversation between him and Special Counsel Robert Hur \u2014 who was only half right when <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/4456879-special-counsel-describes-biden-as-elderly-man-with-a-poor-memory-in-eye-raising-report\/\">describing<\/a> the president as a \u201csympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s another angle Biden\u2019s defenders have taken. We keep hearing how the president is a good and decent man, unlike his opponent. As with most praise of Biden, there is <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EWErickson\/status\/1806670119088656750\">scant<\/a> evidence to back it up.<\/p>\n<p>No president in modern history has <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/10\/11\/joe-biden-is-our-greatest-fabulist\/\">lied<\/a> about his personal life more than Joe Biden. There is <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/09\/joe-biden-needs-to-stop-lying-to-gold-star-families-that-his-son-died-in-iraq\/\">no evidence<\/a> his son Beau\u2019s death had anything to do with his deployment in Iraq, as the president claimed during the debate. And I\u2019ll save readers all the fairy tales that mar Biden\u2019s mendacious career, but they could fill a book.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to support Biden after seeing his mental acuity on display, go for it.
