Despite criticisms of Biden&#8217;s performance, noted for his hoarse \u200cvoice and lack of\u2062 coherence, his campaign rallied by holding \u200cfundraisers and\u200c reaffirming his\u200b candidacy. A \u2062poll following the debate \u2063showed concerns about Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/voters-skeptical-of-joe-bidens-cognitive-health-poll-finds\/\" title=\"Voters Skeptical of Joe Biden\u2019s Cognitive Health, Poll Finds\">mental fitness<\/a>, but the campaign emphasized stability and continuation with Biden as the \u200cDemocratic nominee.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2024<\/a> campaign for President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Joe Biden<\/a> blasted the Democratic &ldquo;bedwetters&rdquo; calling on him to should drop out after his poor debate performance last week, saying the ensuing chaos would become the &ldquo;best possible way&rdquo; for former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a> to win.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;First of all: Joe Biden is going to be the Democratic nominee, period. End of story. Voters voted. He won overwhelmingly,&rdquo; Biden deputy campaign manager Rob Flaherty said in an email to supporters. &ldquo;And if he were to drop out, it would lead to weeks of chaos, internal foodfighting, and a bunch of candidates who limp into a brutal floor fight at the convention, all while Donald Trump has time to speak to American voters uncontested.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>President Joe Biden speaks at a campaign rally in Raleigh, N.C., Friday, June. 28, 2024. (AP Photo\/Matt Kelley)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Flaherty&rsquo;s email was targeted against the Democratic panic that ensued during and after Biden&rsquo;s first debate of the 2024 election season with Trump on Thursday, which prompted near-unanimous opinions from media pundits that the president failed to clear a low bar of expectations due in large part his hoarse voice and incoherent remarks.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The bedwetting brigade is calling for Joe Biden to &lsquo;drop out.&rsquo; That is the best possible way for Donald Trump to win and us to lose,&rdquo;&nbsp;Flaherty added, <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/biden-campaign-argues-president-dropping-lead-weeks-chaos\/story?id=111552401\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>according<\/a> to ABC News.<\/p>\n<p>Only one in five <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/brianbushard\/2024\/06\/29\/warning-signs-for-biden-post-debate-polls-show-more-voters-worried-about-bidens-fitness-but-race-still-virtually-tied\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>respondents<\/a> in an Ipsos poll of more than 2,500 likely voters taken after the debate called Biden&rsquo;s mental fitness &ldquo;good&rdquo; or &ldquo;excellent.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Just one day after the debate, the Biden campaign responded to the panic forcefully, hosting fundraisers on both Friday and Saturday in which the president aimed to reassure his supporters that he could take on the former president in November.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Folks, I don&rsquo;t walk as easy as I used to. I don&rsquo;t speak as smoothly as I used to. I don&rsquo;t debate as well as I used to, but &hellip; I know how to tell the truth.
