I don&rsquo;t think he knows what he said, either.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>With those words, Donald Trump effectively ended the first presidential debate &mdash; and the entirety of the debate regarding President Joe Biden&rsquo;s mental fitness, really &mdash; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-trump-roasts-biden-joe-crashes-answer-dont-think-knows-said-either\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">with a TKO<\/a>, literally before the 90-minute contest hit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/soccer-arsenal-stay-top-with-derby-win-as-tottenham-self-destruct\/\" title=\"Soccer-Arsenal stay top with derby win as Tottenham self-destruct\">half-hour mark<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Trump: &ldquo;I really don&rsquo;t know what he said at the end of that sentence; I don&rsquo;t think he knows what he said either.&rdquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/afW9TkIuUV\">pic.twitter.com\/afW9TkIuUV<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; The Post Millennial (@TPostMillennial) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TPostMillennial\/status\/1806498784031207640?\">June 28, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The only question that remained, for those of us who kept watching like NASCAR viewers who don&rsquo;t like auto racing but want to see if there are going to be any serious wrecks involved, is how bad things got.<\/p>\n<p>The answer: So bad that people were literally wondering whether or not the president of these United States of America was hallucinating a studio audience.<\/p>\n<p>The answer to that: Probably not. But, if you were watching all 90 minutes of that disaster for democracy, could you really be <em>so<\/em> sure?<\/p>\n<p>The most glaring moment came as President Biden delivered his final remarks, which were a rambling farrago of talking points not assembled into any particular sensical order. It wasn&rsquo;t a summation so much as an ejection of unconnected thoughts that presumably had focus-grouped well among Democratic voters.<\/p>\n<p>It began with talk of former President Donald Trump&rsquo;s tax policies: &ldquo;We find ourselves in a situation where, number one, we have to make sure that we have a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mark-ruffalo-quotes-claim-she-hulks-bad-reviews-come-from-woman-haters-racists\/\" title=\"Mark Ruffalo Quotes Claim She-Hulk\u2019s Bad Reviews Come From Woman-Haters, Racists\">fair tax system<\/a>,&rdquo; he said, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.presidency.ucsb.edu\/documents\/presidential-debate-atlanta-georgia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">transcript<\/a>. &ldquo;I ask anyone out there in the audience, or anyone out watching this debate, do you think the tax system is fair?<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Is Joe Biden mentally fit?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&ldquo;The fact is that I said, nobody even making under $400,000 had a single penny increasing their taxes, and it will not. And if I&rsquo;m re-elected, that&rsquo;ll be the case again.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Now, let&rsquo;s leave aside the fact-checking on that one, because that&rsquo;s not the issue. In fact, it&rsquo;s one we&rsquo;d give by default to literally anyone else who&rsquo;d said the same thing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-debate-face-plant-walks-onto-stage-leaves-everyone-baffled-1st-question-asked\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">But this guy? Not so much<\/a>. And nor was it the only moment of the night when the question of whether or not he thought there was an audience came up among those on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Take his entrance, where he waved and said, &ldquo;Hi folks, how are ya?&rdquo; My impression was that he was doing this to the moderators and crew that were present, although others had doubts. Kennedy and Richard Nixon in 1960 not to have a live, in-person audience &mdash; and that was at the behest of the Biden campaign, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/06\/27\/us\/politics\/biden-trump-debate-no-audience.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Times<\/a> noted, which was &ldquo;seeking to avoid any cheering or booing that could derail the conversation.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Yes. Because clearly, the issue was the MAGA rabblement derailing the rhetorical machine that is our 46th president:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">YIKES: Joe Biden starts to freeze <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/AQ7irpCrDf\">pic.twitter.com\/AQ7irpCrDf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Wendell Huseb&oslash; (@WendellHusebo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WendellHusebo\/status\/1806497206033133810?\">June 28, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, my assumption is that Biden&rsquo;s brain, such is what is left of it, was not playing tricks on him Thursday night and making him think there was a live debate audience. That&rsquo;s an&nbsp;<em>assumption<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In any other cycle &mdash; heck, in any other&nbsp;<em>debate<\/em> &mdash; I&rsquo;d unfailingly think these individuals were being misleading by saying that the president was hallucinating people in the &ldquo;audience.&rdquo; On the other hand, nobody who watched Thursday&rsquo;s trainwreck could pass a lie detector test and say they were absolutely sure about that.<\/p>\n<p>No more talk about &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/panic-mode-kjp-scrambles-cover-biden-freezes-obama-says-videos-fake\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cheap fakes<\/a>&rdquo; and misleading clips. No more talk about this president being sharp as a tack behind doors. No more &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/lifelong-stutterer-bidens-worrying-gaffes-aint-childhood-stutter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">childhood stutter<\/a>.&rdquo; We didn&rsquo;t know what Biden was saying most of the time, and he likely didn&rsquo;t know, either.<\/p>\n<p>This is a man in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/doj-makes-unprecedented-claim-withhold-biden-audio-tape-far-will-let-go\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deep, visible, organic mental decline<\/a> that is only going to get worse, and he wants four more years as the most powerful man in the free world. Any sane &ldquo;audience,&rdquo; real or imaginary, should deny him it.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>&ldquo;We don&rsquo;t even know if an election will be held in 2024.&rdquo; Those 12 words have been stuck in my head since I first read them.&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Former Lt.
