criticized\u2062 a prominent figure in the Democratic\u200d Party, possibly\u200b hinting\u2062 at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/newsoms-shine-starts-to-come-off-as-his-national-spotlight-gets-brighter\/\" title=\"Newsom&#039;s shine starts to come off as his national spotlight gets brighter\">potential presidential \u2062aspirations<\/a>.\u200b He argued that Democrats \u200bshould reconsider if President\u200d Joe Biden is suitable for another term, \u2062following Gavin Newsom&#8217;s defense of Biden&#8217;s disorganized <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/book-donald-trump-tested-positive-later-negative-for-coronavirus-before-first-presidential-debate\/\" title=\"Book: Donald Trump Tested Positive (Later Negative) for Coronavirus Before First Presidential Debate\">debate performance<\/a>.\u200b Newsom stressed the\u200b importance of supporting Biden but \u2063Scarborough highlighted the necessity for critical evaluation within the party.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><em>Morning Joe&rsquo;s<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-scarborough\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Joe Scarborough<\/a> came out swinging against one of the Democratic Party&rsquo;s biggest stars and possible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-threatens-to-bar-its-presidential-nominees-from-participating-in-some-debates\/\" title=\"GOP Threatens to Bar Its Presidential Nominees From Participating in Some Debates\">future presidential nominee<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Responding to Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/gavin-newsom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Gavin Newsom<\/a>&lsquo;s (D-CA) defense of President <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Joe Biden&rsquo;s<\/a> messy debate performance on Thursday night, the morning show host emphasized how important it is for Democrats to start questioning whether the president is fit for another term.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We need to deliver for this president in this moment,&rdquo; Newsom said Thursday night. &ldquo;With all due respect, the more time we have these conversations, go down the rabbit holes, it is unhelpful to our democracy, the fate and future of our democracy, the world.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Scarborough was quick to slap down the argument after sparring with co-host Mika Brzezinski all morning about whether Democrats need to start talking about replacing the president.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The question is, though, despite my belief that Joe Biden has had an extremely successful first term, is it time for him to step down? That&rsquo;s a question,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;That window has not completely closed, but it is closing. I will say, with all due respect to the governor of California, you are not hurting America, you are not hurting the cause of America by asking these tough questions now.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Newsom&rsquo;s comment comes among a wide array of media outlets lamenting Biden&rsquo;s debate performance, in which he appeared to lack the mental sharpness of his opponent.<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>Newsom has been <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/piersmorgan\/status\/1806646878768890266\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>floated<\/a> as a possible replacement for Biden. He is much younger than Biden at 56 and has been viewed as a rising star within the party since he took California&rsquo;s governorship in 2019.
