It also notes a \u2062significant increase in funding for DEI programs, urging an\u2064 end to what it \u200bcalls DEI-based\u2063 social engineering. The\u2063 report suggests returning to merit-based policies and highlights the negative \u200dimpact of these programs on recruitment\u2064 and unit cohesion, as they foster suspicion instead \u200dof\u2064 trust among <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-republicans-have-a-choice-back-tuberville-or-fail-a-majority-of-americans-on-abortion-again\/\" title=\"Senate Republicans must decide: support Tuberville or disappoint the majority of Americans on abortion once more.\">service \u200bmembers<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<figure>                         <\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A new <a href=\"https:\/\/cai.asu.edu\/sites\/default\/files\/2024-06\/CAI%20Civic%20Education%20in%20the%20Military%20Report%20-%20Digital%20v3.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a> said Pentagon\u00a0programs to sniff out \u201cwhite supremacists\u201d in the U.S. military came up empty-handed and were even counterproductive to military readiness and morale.<\/p>\n<p>A zealous diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) bureaucracy has been established in the military and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-military-crowd-gives-trump-stunning-welcome-at-army-navy-game\/\" title=\"Watch: Military Crowd Gives Trump Stunning Welcome at Army-Navy Game\">service academies<\/a>, more recently \u201cthrough mandated executive orders in the 2010s and 2020s,\u201d the report, produced by the Arizona State University\u2019s (ASU) Center for American Institutions, said. It also revealed that the efforts to \u201csearch for \u2018violent extremists\u2019 in the military,\u201d have yielded rare and infrequent results. <\/p>\n<p>The report uncovered that the military\u2019s \u201csearch for white supremacists \u2013 seemingly the only extremists that interest the military \u2013 has come up short: only 100 members of the military were deemed to be extremists out of a force of 2.1 million.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The military has actively pushed DEI policies and re-education classes with the goal \u201c\u2018to eradicate racism, sexism, and negative biases that diminish our warfighting effectiveness,&#8217;\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/cai.asu.edu\/sites\/default\/files\/2024-06\/CAI%20Civic%20Education%20in%20the%20Military%20Report%20-%20Digital%20v3.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a> said, citing the 2021 Marine Corps DEI Plan. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust as private companies have abandoned the toxic advice of DEI consultants and programs, military leaders should end social engineering based on critical race theory and restore approaches that promote character and merit,\u201d said\u00a0Donald Critchlow, Director of the Center for American Institutions at ASU.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, \u201cSpending on DEI programming is increasing. The DOD\u2019s allocation for DEI projects jumped from $68 million in fiscal year 2022 to $86.5 million in fiscal year 2023. The Pentagon is requesting $114.7 million for fiscal year 2024.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Matt Lohmeier,\u00a0a former Space Force commander who was fired from his position due to his opposition and criticism of DEI policies, is well aware of the impact that prioritizing diversity sensitivity training has on the Pentagon and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/military-service-academies-go-woke\/\" title=\"Military Service Academies Go Woke\">military service academies<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s no surprise that young people are turning away from military service in record numbers,\u201d Lohmeier said. \u201cAs this comprehensive report illuminates, DEI indoctrination has become a core component of military training that begins for officers even at the service academies.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The report also details how military personnel were encouraged to turn each other in if it was believed the DEI protocol was violated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEfforts to root out white supremacy involve not only training but appointing service members to act as the \u2018eyes and ears\u2019 of the bureaucracy to turn in suspects,\u201d the report reads. \u201cSuspicion replaces trust, understanding, and teamwork.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The report was produced by a commission created through ASU\u2019s Center for American Institutions. It was led by commissioners Lohmeier, Karrin Taylor Robson, and John Cauthen, in tandem with researchers from ASU. <\/p>\n<p>In the report, the group \u201ccalls for an immediate end to the Pentagon\u2019s multimillion-dollar DEI bureaucracy.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur research reviewed DEI policy in the military starting in the nineteen seventies to the modern day and concluded there are far more effective ways to promote unity and respect among military ranks than by spending millions annually to divide service members by their gender or race,\u201d Critchlow said. <\/p>\n<p>Examples of gross overemphasis on DEI were drawn out long before the publication of this report. <\/p>\n<p>During Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin\u2019s Senate confirmation hearing, he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2021\/04\/07\/984700148\/the-military-confronts-extremism-one-conversation-at-a-time\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>, \u201cWe woke up one day and discovered that we had extremist elements in our ranks, and they did bad things that we certainly held them accountable for.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Lloyd\u2019s determination led to a military-wide \u201cDOD Stand-Down to Address Extremism in the Ranks,\u201d a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/News\/Releases\/Release\/Article\/2495924\/dod-stand-down-to-address-extremism-in-the-ranks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">memo<\/a> released in early 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2020, Corps Commandant General David Berger asserted that diversity was essential to warfighting,\u201d said the report. \u201c\u2018I am absolutely convinced: Too much similarity \u2013 too much that we look all the same, think the same, got the same background \u2013 we\u2019re going to get killed.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In response to the death of George Floyd, for example, General Mark Milley <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/News\/News-Stories\/Article\/Article\/2269438\/no-place-for-racism-discrimination-in-us-military-milley-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>, \u201cThe protests that have ensued not only speak to this injustice, but also to centuries of injustice towards Black Americans.
