He was found unresponsive in his pool. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office determined his cause of death to be acute effects of ketamine with contributing factors including the effects of buprenorphine, a drug used to treat opioid use disorder, drowning, and coronary artery disease.<\/p>\n<p>Since the 1990s, Perry has struggled with his drug and alcohol addiction, but prior to his death, he had been clean for 19 months. He was receiving ketamine infusion therapy to treat depression and anxiety, receiving his last treatment a week and a half before his death.
