The ad features a \u200dmessage with Trump&#8217;s image \u200dand past clips where he questions the integrity of mail-in voting. It encourages listeners to heed Trump&#8217;s advice, interpreted as urging them not to \u200buse mail-in ballots.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump campaign argues that the ad falsely represents Trump&#8217;s stance and could\u200c be\u200c misleading to voters, \u2064suggesting it violates several federal laws including the Ku Klux Klan Act, which was originally designed to protect voting rights against intimidation methods. The campaign&#8217;s letter, penned by attorney David Warrington, \u200dalso alleges the ad might contribute to voter suppression.<\/p>\n<p>In response, Trump\u200b campaign senior advisor Brian Hughes emphasized that President Trump encourages\u2064 all legal voting methods and\u2064 has actively \u2062promoted them at recent rallies, including directing supporters to a specific website that outlines legal voting procedures. The campaign argues that the false representation in \u2062the advertisement could\u200c disrupt the electoral process and mislead Pennsylvania voters, thereby possibly infringing upon their right to vote freely.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/news\/\">  News <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/randydesoto\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/randydesoto\/%20\"><span>Randy DeSoto<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   June 26, 2024 at 1:04pm <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>Former President Donald Trump\u2019s presidential campaign sent a letter Tuesday to a Pennsylvania-based Democrat-aligned political action committee demanding it take down a digital ad calling on Trump supporters not to vote by mail-in ballot.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/lpdonovan\/status\/1804879330008248619?s=42\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">30-second spot<\/a> begins with the words on screen superimposed over a picture of Trump saying, \u201cMAGA Patriots Listen to Our President!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ad includes past clips of Trump questioning the integrity of mail-in voting, which was his concern in 2020 when several states, including Pennsylvania, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/rnc-sues-key-pa-county-outside-philly-absentee-ballot-counting-procedures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">changed election procedures<\/a> to facilitate mass voting by mail during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump campaign sent a cease-and-desist letter to the super PAC Pennsylvania Values saying its ad is in violation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cdc-exposed-inflated-covid-deaths-by-1600-throughout-the-election-violated-multiple-federal-laws-peer-reviewed-study-findsstate-local-governments-must-act\/\" title=\"CDC Exposed: Inflated Covid Deaths By 1600% Throughout The Election, \u201cViolated Multiple Federal Laws\u201d Peer-Reviewed Study Finds\u2026State, Local Governments Must Act\">multiple federal laws<\/a>, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/constitutioncenter.org\/the-constitution\/historic-document-library\/detail\/ku-klux-klan-act-of-1871-april-20-1871-an-act-to-enforce-the-provisions-of-the-fourteenth-amendment-to-the-constitution-of-the-united-states-and-for-other-purposes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ku Klux Klan Act<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are aware of your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-warns-leftist-pac-to-take-down-election-interference-ad\/\" title=\"Trump Warns Leftist PAC To Take Down 'Election Interference' Ad\">advertisement falsely claiming<\/a> that President Trump has asked Pennsylvania voters not to vote by mail. This advertisement may constitute both a criminal and civil conspiracy to injure the rights of President Trump\u2019s supporters to cast their ballots in Pennsylvania,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.nucleusfiles.com\/f8\/f84e409a-6e48-455a-8673-264f428dadb4\/20240625_pa-values.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> from Trump campaign attorney David Warrington to Pennsylvania Values treasurer Maria L. Galdo begins.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCease and desist broadcasting, or otherwise distributing via the internet or elsewhere, this false advertisement immediately and preserve all relevant documents in anticipation of likely litigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote data-conversation=\"none\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Full spot here. But without a firm grasp of the subtext you\u2019d have no idea this was coming from the left. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/dnG400MG16\">pic.twitter.com\/dnG400MG16<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Liam Donovan (@LPDonovan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LPDonovan\/status\/1804879330008248619?\">June 23, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Warring then cited a federal statute making it a crime to \u201cconspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person . . . in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Should Pennsylvania authorities take action against the PAC behind this ad?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cVoting is such a right,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>The attorney pointed to a Justice Department case brought against conservative social media influencer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-edny\/pr\/social-media-influencer-douglass-mackey-sentenced-after-conviction-election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Douglass Mackey<\/a>, who was convicted in 2023 of \u201cconspiracy against rights\u201d for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-this-average-american-is-voting-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"Why This Average American Is Voting for Donald Trump\">social media posts<\/a> he made during the 2016 presidential election in which he falsely instructed people that they could vote by text for Democrat Hillary Clinton.<\/p>\n<p>One post image stated in the fine print at the bottom of the image \u201cPaid for by Hillary For President 2016,\u201d the DOJ said.<\/p>\n<p>Warrington\u2019s letter to the Pennsylvania Values PAC continued, \u201cIn addition to federal criminal law, your false advertisement also appears to violate the [Ku Klux Klan Act], a law enacted to prevent Democrats associated with the KKK from attempting to intimidate Republican voters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The act was passed during the Republican Ulysses S. Grant administration to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/factcheck\/2020\/06\/30\/fact-check-democratic-party-did-not-found-kkk-start-civil-war\/3253803001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">address intimidation<\/a> tactics the KKK was using in southern states after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/frederick-douglass-republican\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Civil War<\/a> to keep black people, who tended to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.factcheck.org\/2008\/04\/blacks-and-the-democratic-party\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">support Republicans<\/a>, from going to the polls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe [Ku Klux Klan Act] creates a civil cause of action against persons who conspire \u2018to prevent by force, intimidation, or threat, any citizen who is lawfully entitled to vote, from giving his support or advocacy in a legal manner, toward or in favor of the election of any lawfully qualified person as an elector for President or Vice President, or as a Member of Congress of the United States,&#8217;\u201d Warrington wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn its face, your false advertisement appears to violate the [Ku Klux Klan Act],\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n<p>The attorney concluded, \u201cIn light of these apparent violations of the law, immediately cease and desist broadcasting your false voter intimidation advertisement and preserve any and all documents, communications, and other information that may be pertinent to your potential conspiracy against the rights of the citizens of Pennsylvania.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Commentator Liam Donovan <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/lpdonovan\/status\/1804879330008248619\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted<\/a> on his X account that the super PAC in question was a big backer of Democrat causes: \u201cPennsylvania Values is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/john-fetterman-disavowed-dirty-corporate-money-then-came-sam-bankman-fried\/\" title=\"John Fetterman Disavowed \u2018Dirty\u2019 Corporate Money. Then Came Sam Bankman-Fried.\">super pac funded<\/a> almost entirely by the building trades that was most active in 2018 the last time [Pennsylvania Democrat Sen. Bob] Casey was up, spending $1.1M against [Republican challenger Lou] Barletta. Spent another $285k in 2020 against Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brian Hughes, senior adviser to the Trump campaign, said in a news release regarding the ad, \u201cBiden and his allies will stop at nothing to interfere with this election because Crooked Joe is losing nationally and in battleground states like Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Values PAC is peddling lies to prevent voters exercising their right to vote.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Trump has been clear that his supporters should use all legal methods to cast a ballot this election,\u201d Hughes continued. \u201cIn just the last two weeks at events in front of thousands of Americans \u2014 including in Pennsylvania \u2014 President Trump has encouraged supporters to visit <a href=\"https:\/\/swampthevoteusa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SwamptheVoteUSA.com<\/a>, a website that promotes all legal voting methods.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo say otherwise in advertising, as this false TV commercial does, represents an intentional effort to mislead Pennsylvania voters, suppress Trump supporters, and disrupt a fair election this Fall.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>\u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d Those 12 words have been stuck in my head since I first read them. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Former Lt.
