It claims that Biden administration officials \u2064collaborated with \u2063major social media \u200dplatforms to suppress certain information \u200babout COVID-19 and election\u2063 processes. \u200dThe piece \u200cmentions\u200c a lawsuit, Murthy v. Missouri, brought\u2063 by Republican state attorneys general \u2063and private \u2062citizens \u200dagainst\u2063 various government agencies and officials, which was aimed at\u2063 addressing\u2062 these censorship concerns. However, the Supreme\u200b Court, with a \u200cdecision\u2064 of six to three, dismissed the case, \u200cciting that the \u200cplaintiffs did not have standing \u200dto sue.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2063article highlights the frustration of \u2063those who feel their free\u2062 speech rights\u200c were violated and criticizes the Supreme Court\u2019s decision for avoiding the core issues \u2062of free\u2062 speech and\u200b government censorship. Justice Al Lito&#8217;s \u200bdissent is particularly \u2062noted for its strong\u2064 stance\u2064 on the importance of free speech in social \u200bmedia. But much of it wasn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, many of the approved \u201ctruths\u201d at that time are now known to be false (many scientific positions on COVID have since changed, the constitutionality of certain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/election-integrity-win-judge-kills-dems-absentee-ballot-plot-mi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lax voting procedures<\/a>, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>Either way, even if it had all been misleading, the government has no right to conspire to suppress what we say.<\/p>\n<p>A recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/23pdf\/23-411_3dq3.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lawsuit<\/a> brought before the Supreme Court hoped to find some justice for all of this, for the suppression and overreach that took place these past few years.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, based on Wednesday\u2019s ruling, justice may take a little longer to find.<\/p>\n<p>The suit in question \u2014 Murthy v. Missouri \u2014 was issued by a number of Republican state attorneys general and private citizens suing several government agencies and officials in the Biden administration, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/4741030-alito-white-house-social-media-dissent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The plaintiffs argued officials and agencies had violated the constitution by pressuring social media platforms to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-biden-admin-praised-youtubes-censorship-used-it-to-pressure-facebook-to-intensify-suppression-of-vaccine-stories\/\" title=\"Biden Admin Applauds YouTube's Censorship, Urges Facebook to Increase Vaccine Story Suppression\">censor speech related<\/a> to COVID and the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Did the Supreme Court get this one wrong?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In a six-three decision, the Supreme Court shot the suit down, with the majority largely avoiding the issue of free speech and government censorship of said speech entirely, per The Hill.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Breaking! The Supreme Court rules that the plaintiffs in Murthy v. Missouri do not have standing to sue.<\/p>\n<p>This is a huge loss for Free Speech in America. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VRBJzl8ijy\">pic.twitter.com\/VRBJzl8ijy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Media Research Center (@theMRC) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/theMRC\/status\/1805966966022135855?\">June 26, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In dissent were Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/lefts-latest-sting-supreme-court-justice-alito-backfires-proves-right\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Samuel Alito<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Though justice may not have been found in this case as of yet, the ruling did yield one nice consolation prize: Justice Alito\u2019s dissent.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Alito\u2019s dissent is spot-on.<\/p>\n<p>The doctrine of standing is necessary to keep the judiciary within its bounds. Here, it constrains SCOTUS to leave unaddressed \u201carguably the most massive attack on free speech in US history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That means it falls to Congress and the President to stop\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/1XgEs2sDGT\">pic.twitter.com\/1XgEs2sDGT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rep. Dan Bishop (@RepDanBishop) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepDanBishop\/status\/1805972658787389832?\">June 26, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The justice didn\u2019t hold back and made it quite clear why <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dr-phils-video-border-crisis-shut-social-media-platforms-accuses-facebook-others-censorship\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">free speech on social media<\/a> is one of the most important issues of our time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI assume that a fair portion of what <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-furious-ca-restaurant-owner-confronts-inspectors-issuing-citation-are-you-gonna-pay-my-rent\/\" title=\"WATCH: Furious CA Restaurant Owner Confronts Inspectors Issuing Citation: \u2018Are You Gonna Pay My Rent?\u2019\">social media users<\/a> had to say about COVID-19 and the pandemic was of little lasting value,\u201d Alito wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome was undoubtedly untrue or misleading, and some may have been downright dangerous. But we now know that valuable speech was also suppressed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor months, high-ranking Government officials placed unrelenting pressure on Facebook to suppress Americans\u2019 free speech.
