Riviello\u200d was discharged from Beth \u200cIsrael Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth earlier this month and died while trying to find his way home. Despite having limited cognitive functions due \u200dto a head injury and \u200csmall vessel \u200bdisease contributing to dementia,\u2064 he was released \u2062without the hospital notifying his family. Massachusetts family is calling for changes after one of their own was discharged from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/atlantic-city-shutters-needle-exchange-site-amid-spike-in-deadly-overdoses\/\" title=\"Atlantic City Shutters Needle Exchange Site Amid Spike In Deadly Overdoses\">hospital earlier<\/a> this month and died attempting to get home.<\/p>\n<p>The family said not only was 69-year-old Rodney Riviello forced to find his own way home despite limited cognitive functions but that when his body was found in Plymouth, he was still holding his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/buckingham-palace-announces-princess-hospitalized-concussion-incident\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hospital<\/a> discharge paperwork.<\/p>\n<p>His body was found alone in a marsh following an extensive search that lasted for days.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcvb.com\/article\/missing-plymouth-massachusetts-man-dementia-hospital-safeguards\/61414108#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WCVB-TV<\/a>, the family also claims that when Riviello was cut loose from Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth June 18, none of them were notified.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Sad update\u2026 69-year-old Rodney Riviello, last seen Tues. leaving a hospital in Plymouth, has been found dead \u201coutdoors in Plymouth,\u201d firefighters say<\/p>\n<p>No other details were given about the discovery<\/p>\n<p>His family said he had some memory issues and was a few weeks from his bday <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/wwMfCGmFiL\">pic.twitter.com\/wwMfCGmFiL<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Darren Botelho (@DarrenBotelho) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DarrenBotelho\/status\/1804625900501082600?\">June 22, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The man had been treated by hospital staff after he suffered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/teenagers-memory-erases-every-two-hours-due-traumatic-head-injury-like-movie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a head injury<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That injury was sustained during a fall and the family said in a statement to WCVB that testing showed Riviello suffered from serious health issues.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VeBr3GqVLU8?si=7AvvskAL_DG1cDK9\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"   style=\"display:none\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Should Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth be held accountable for Rodney Riviello\u2019s death?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cA CAT scan (at the hospital) showed a broken nose, and a hematoma from the fall, and significant cerebral small vessel disease, which is known to cause dementia,\u201d the family stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMuch to our shock and disappointment, no one ever contacted us or anyone to help a man with no way home,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p>A representative with Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth told the news station that the hospital is cooperating with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/greatest-adversary-disturbing-discovery-nevada-lithium-mine-gop-launching-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an investigation<\/a> into Riviello\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital said it gave the man a voucher for a free cab ride but otherwise declined to release a statement.<\/p>\n<p>However, Riviello\u2019s family said he had no wallet or phone and that his capacity to communicate was limited when he left the facility.<\/p>\n<p>His remains were ultimately found about a mile from the hospital that discharged him on Saturday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/judge-removed-office-allegedly-hitting-police-officer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">police<\/a> said.<\/p>\n<p>Riviello\u2019s daughter Michelle Norris explained that her father had suffered \u201ca series of mini-strokes\u201d which she said had \u201cdone some damage to his brain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Norris added that when her father left the care of doctors he did not have the \u201clogic and reasoning\u201d that would have been necessary \u201cto <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-insults-to-america-are-unwarranted\/\" title=\"Biden\u2019s insults to America are unwarranted\">make good decisions<\/a> in order to get himself safely home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The family believes Riviello\u2019s death was needless and preventable and plans to speak to at least one <a 70th birthday want to see changes in hospital protocols as it relates to discharging patients with <a
