This letter was published by Politico. The report \u200csuggests that this act may have\u2064 been \u200bpart of a coordinated effort by these CIA-associated \u2062individuals to influence the \u200bpresidential\u2062 election in favor of Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p>Jeremy Bash, a former CIA operative and the ex-husband of CNN debate moderator Dana Bash, was\u2063 also mentioned in the report. \u200cIt was noted\u2064 that\u200b he too was an independent \u200bcontractor for the CIA during this period \u200dand had a &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/opinion-requiring-proof-of-vaccination-is-a-slippery-slope\/\" title=\"Opinion: Requiring Proof Of Vaccination Is A Slippery Slope\">green badge<\/a>&#8221; clearance. The report\u2064 calls attention to the potential conflicts of interest\u200c and misleading actions undertaken by these high-profile intelligence community members.<\/p>\n<p>The House Republicans have been intensifying their investigation \u2063into this matter, prompted by testimonies that indicated the CIA might have solicited these signatures\u200d to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/date-set-for-gavin-newsom-ron-desantis-debate\/\" title=\"Newsom-DeSantis Debate Date Announced\">influence public\u2063 opinion<\/a> and the election outcome. Revelations from this investigation have raised \u200dconcerns about the integrity of the federal agency&#8217;s involvement in political \u2064processes and the veracity of statements made by \u2064key figures like Morell who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/third-woman-accuses-cuomo-of-making-unwanted-sexual-advances-at-wedding\/\" title=\"Third Woman Accuses Cuomo Of Making Unwanted Sexual Advances At Wedding\">initially denied<\/a> being a contractor.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>CNN debate moderator Dana Bash\u2019s ex-husband Jeremy was an operative for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) when he signed the infamous 2020 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/f\/?id=00000175-4393-d7aa-af77-579f9b330000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">letter<\/a> to Politico discrediting the Hunter Biden laptop as Russian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-live-facebook-and-twitter-ceos-testify-before-senate-judiciary-committee\/\" title=\"Watch Live: Facebook and Twitter CEOs Testify Before Senate Judiciary Committee\">election interference<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government published a blockbuster <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/sites\/evo-subsites\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/files\/evo-media-document\/2024-06-25%20The%20Intelligence%20Community%2051%20-%20How%20CIA%20Contractors%20Colluded%20with%20the%20Biden%20Campaign%20to%20Mislead%20American%20Voters.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a> on the CIA\u2019s role coordinating the deep state smear campaign aimed at electing President Joe Biden four years ago. According to the Judiciary Committee, which had been investigating the CIA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/09\/cia-solicited-signatures-for-hunter-biden-laptop-letter-congressional-testimony-shows\/\">involvement<\/a> with the letter to Politico since <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/12\/08\/jim-jordan-to-cia-how-many-hunter-biden-laptop-letter-signatories-were-on-the-cias-payroll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">December<\/a>, several of the 51 signatories were contractors for the premier intelligence agency when they sought to dismiss Hunter Biden\u2019s discovered hard drive as Kremlin disinformation. Michael Morell, the former acting director of the agency, and former Inspector General David Buckley were both on CIA payroll at the time the letter was published.<\/p>\n<p>Jeremy Bash was also highlighted in the report as an \u201cindependent contractor\u201d for the CIA, and he apparently held a \u201cgreen badge\u201d clearance from April 2, 2019, to April 1, 2022. Jeremy renewed his clearance on Aug. 22, 2022, which will expire in August this year. The intelligence official was the CNN anchor\u2019s first husband, and they <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/04\/28\/cnns-dana-bash-blasts-la-times-for-calling-her-john-kings-ex-wife\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">married<\/a> in 1998. The pair divorced in 2007, and Dana married CNN anchor John King a year later. Dana and King remained together until 2012.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/06\/25\/us-news\/cia-admits-some-spies-who-lie-were-active-contractors-as-records-show-internal-fear-of-long-run-harm-of-letter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">According<\/a> to the New York Post, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bank-of-america-is-without-the-knowledge-or-the-consent-of-customers-sharing-private-info-with-feds-tucker-carlson-reports\/\" title=\"Bank Of America \u2018Is Without The Knowledge Or The Consent\u2019 Of Customers \u2018Sharing Private\u2019 Info With Feds, Tucker Carlson Reports\">reported exclusively<\/a> on the House findings before they were made public, \u201cMorell flatly denied he was a contractor when contacted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you write that, you would [be] wrong,\u201d Morell wrote in an email to the New York paper. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMorell doubled down in a second email,\u201d the Post added, \u201cwriting that \u2018I can\u2019t\u2019 speculate on why he was listed as such by the agency he once led and insisting: \u2018It\u2019s wrong.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A House source delivered the CIA document showing Morell\u2019s involvement to The Federalist Tuesday evening. Robert Dugas, the CIA deputy general counsel for litigation and investigations, wrote to House Republicans that Morell was contracted with the CIA at the time of the letter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe evidence in our report speaks for itself and it seems that the spy who lied is continuing to do so,\u201d Russell Dye, a spokesman for the House Judiciary Committee, told The Federalist in a statement. <\/p>\n<p>House Republicans had escalated their investigation into the CIA\u2019s election interference for months after committee testimony <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/09\/cia-solicited-signatures-for-hunter-biden-laptop-letter-congressional-testimony-shows\/\">suggested<\/a> the agency solicited signatures last year. In March, GOP Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan of Ohio <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/22\/house-republicans-probe-cia-interference-in-hunter-biden-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pressed<\/a> the CIA on whether officials had even interfered with federal investigations into the president\u2019s son. Whistleblowers from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) told House investigators that Justice Department officials suddenly moved to block an interview with a critical witness after they were summoned to CIA headquarters in Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>In their latest report published Tuesday, lawmakers reported \u201cHigh ranking CIA officials, up to and including then-CIA Director Gina Haspel, were made aware of the Hunter Biden statement prior to its approval and publication.\u201d Once the statement was made public in Politico, \u201cCIA employees internally expressed concern about the statement\u2019s politicized content, acknowledging it was not \u2018helpful to the Agency in the long run.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven Michael Morell \u2014 before the Committees learned of his contract with the CIA,\u201d the report continued, \u201cacknowledged, \u2018It\u2019s inappropriate for a currently serving staff officer or contractor to be involved in the political process.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another report from independent Substack journalists has raised questions about whether the FBI\u2019s raid on former President Donald Trump\u2019s residence in Florida was also a ploy to protect the public integrity of the intelligence agency. <\/p>\n<p>On the Substack called \u201cPublic,\u201d Michael Shellenberger, Matt Taibbi, and Alex Gutentag <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/02\/15\/former-director-gina-haspel-hid-the-cias-role-in-russiagate-for-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> in February that \u201cmultiple sources believe that Trump\u2019s possession\u201d of a material revealing the CIA\u2019s role to hatch the original Russia hoax \u201cled the FBI to raid his home in Mar-a-Lago, which led to the prosecution of Trump by Justice Department special prosecutor Jack Smith.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Tristan Justice is the western correspondent for The Federalist and the author of Social Justice Redux, a conservative newsletter on culture, health, and wellness.
