The \u2062change\u2062 was due\u200d to Merchan\u2019s pre-existing commitment to another lengthy trial \u2063scheduled\u200c to overlap with Bannon&#8217;s.\u200c Judge Ellen Biben \u200cannounced the reassignment, citing Merchan&#8217;s involvement\u200d in a six-defendant trial expected to last several months starting in September 2024, which conflicts with Bannon&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senators-call-for-declassification-of-9-11-documents-related-to-saudi-arabia\/\" title=\"Senators Call For Declassification of 9\/11 Documents Related To Saudi Arabia\">trial date set<\/a> for September 23.
