Doescher mentioned that Trump is\u200d keen on choosing a \u200bvice \u2062president who won&#8217;t \u200dundermine him, unlike \u2062his experience with Mike \u2063Pence, and emphasized the need for Trump to attract more support from suburban women \u2062and minority\u2064 voters.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The <em>Washington Examiner\u2019s<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/author\/tiana-lowe-doescher\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Tiana Lowe Doescher<\/a> argued the rumored short list of former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump\u2019s<\/a> possible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/vice-president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>vice presidential<\/a> candidates stems from his love of \u201cready for prime time central casting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The topic of who Trump will select as his vice president for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>2024 election<\/a> cycle has been speculated for months now, with a new report indicating the three most likely candidates include Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/doug-burgum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Doug Burgum<\/a> (R-ND), Sens. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/marco-rubio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Marco Rubio<\/a> (R-FL), and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/jd-vance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>J.D. Vance<\/a> (R-OH). Doescher suggested Trump wants someone who is great with the public, which she contended all three of these candidates are.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMarco Rubio, incredible orator, same thing with J.D. Vance, great personal story, and Doug Burgum, billionaire in his own right, very successful businessman,\u201d Doescher said on Fox News\u2019s <em>Your World with Neil Cavuto<\/em>. \u201cLook, they don\u2019t necessarily shore up any significant electoral base, not that it is clear on the map right now that Trump really needs it, right? He\u2019s ahead in every <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-is-winning-big-in-major-2024-swing-states\/\" title=\"Trump dominates key swing states in 2024\">single swing state<\/a>, except for Wisconsin and Michigan, where he\u2019s virtually tied, which is very different from previous elections where he was behind in all these swing states until he maybe won them. So he\u2019s not too concerned about that, but really what Trump wants is he doesn\u2019t want a repeat of Mike Pence. He doesn\u2019t want to feel undermined.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Doescher added that while all three of these picks would provide a decent amount of charisma and ability to fundraise for Trump\u2019s campaign, the former president still has work to do in winning support from voters, specifically among suburban women and minority <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/voting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>voters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/debates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>the presidential debate<\/a> scheduled for Thursday, Doescher advised Trump to focus on \u201cJoe Biden\u2019s America,\u201d specifically discussing matters impacting the present instead of discussing what has happened in the past, such as the events of 2020 or \u201caudio tapes unearthed from 2016.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDon\u2019t make it about that, make it about right now,\u201d Doescher said. \u201cMake it about the 19% increase in prices under Joe Biden. Make it about the millions that have flooded through the southern border. Make it about the fact that you can\u2019t get a mortgage for under 7% today when, under the Trump administration, you could get one for under 3%.
