The gag order, advocated by federal prosecutor David \u200dHarbach and initiated by Justice Department <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sidney-powell-is-an-american-legal-giant\/\" title=\"Sidney Powell Is an American Legal Giant\">special counsel<\/a> Jack Smith, aims to prevent \u2062Trump from discussing certain aspects of the case publicly, especially during the upcoming presidential debate against Joe \u200bBiden. Trump&#8217;s attorney, Todd Blanche, contended that such a restriction could jeopardize \u200bTrump&#8217;s ability to respond to attacks during the debate and \u2063could lead to his\u200d arrest if he violated the gag order. The hearing, presided over by Judge Aileen Cannon, \u200cincluded heated exchanges, with Cannon emphasizing the \u200cneed for decorum.\u200c No decision timeline was provided for the\u2063 gag order. Trump is set to debate Biden on\u2064 Thursday in Atlanta, moderated \u2063by CNN anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. \u2062The event is anticipated to be a significant moment\u200b in the 2024 election season.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/news\/\">  News <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/johnathanjones\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/johnathanjones\/%20\"><span>Johnathan Jones<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   June 25, 2024 at 2:33pm <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>An attorney for former President Donald Trump urged the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-president-trump-gives-pardons-to-73-individuals-and-commutes-another-70-sentences-steve-bannon-is-included\/\" title=\"BREAKING: President Trump Gives Pardons to 73 Individuals and Commutes Another 70 Sentences \u2013 Steve Bannon Is Included\">federal judge overseeing<\/a> his classified documents case not to issue a gag order against him on Monday during a tense hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-defense-team-notified-comment-found-new-york-court-page-predicting-outcome-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Todd Blanche<\/a> argued such an order could hinder Trump during his Thursday CNN debate against President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/two-different-federal-courts-halt-bidens-student-debt-cancellation-plan-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe Biden<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Blanche further argued that if Trump defended himself against any Biden attacks related to the case, he could wind up in a jail cell.<\/p>\n<p>Blanche and federal prosecutor David Harbach \u2014 who is working for Justice Department special counsel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/federal-judge-slaps-attempt-place-gag-order-trump-threatens-jack-smith-punishment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jack Smith<\/a> \u2014 both made arguments about the proposal of a gag order to Judge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/judge-cannon-issues-ruling-trump-prosecutors-big-order\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aileen Cannon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Harbach asked that Cannon force Trump to remain quiet about the case, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/06\/24\/proposed-gag-order-in-classified-documents-case-would-stifle-trump-in-presidential-debate-his-lawyers-say-00164768\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Politico<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, per the report, Blanche argued that if his client were to say something Thursday the court viewed as a violation of a gag order that prosecutors could \u201cget an arrest warrant and, if signed, they can arrest [Trump].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Smith requested a gag order Monday morning and enlisted Harbach to pursue it in court on his behalf.<\/p>\n<p>The special counsel is requesting a court order to force Trump to stop talking about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/just-biden-admin-authorized-deadly-use-force-mar-lago-raid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">documents that were released<\/a> that showed the DOJ authorized federal agents to use deadly force during the August 2022 raid of the former president\u2019s home at Mar-a-Lago, Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Politico reported that during Monday\u2019s hearing, Harbach complained at one point that he was unable to make the points he wished to about a gag order as Cannon had asked him too many questions.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Are you voting for Trump?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Cannon reportedly \u201csnapped\u201d at Harbach over his tone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would expect decorum at all times,\u201d she reportedly said to Harbach before she asked him to \u201creset.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Harbcach went on to claim that Trump\u2019s comments about the use of force authorization in the raid of his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/arizona-senate-candidate-kari-lake-breaks-record-huge-haul-mar-lago-fundraiser\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florida estate<\/a> were \u201cfalse,\u201d \u201cinflammatory\u201d and \u201cinviting of retributive violence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cannon offered both sides until Wednesday to finish submitting documentation for or against the proposed gag order. She offered no timetable for a decision on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Cannon has already postponed the trial indefinitely.<\/p>\n<p>Trump and Biden will square off for the first presidential debate of the 2024 election season Thursday in Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p>The debate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/06\/15\/politics\/trump-biden-cnn-debate-rules\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">will be moderated<\/a> by CNN anchors <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/cnn-pulls-trump-spokeswoman-air-telling-truth-debate-moderator-jake-tapper\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jake Tapper<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/cnns-dana-bash-admits-bidens-treatment-7th-grandchild-sad-disturbing-blames-republicans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dana Bash<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The forum will begin at 9 p.m. ET and is expected to last about 90 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Both candidates will speak from a podium and there will only be two commercial breaks.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>\u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d Those 12 words have been stuck in my head since I first read them. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Former Lt.
