However, a fact check has determined that the claim is false. The European Commission will \u201cprobe\u201d the company due to the Digital Markets Act, which Apple said it believes it is in compliance with, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/06\/24\/apple-app-store-rules-are-in-breach-eu-tech-rules-regulators-say.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A post shared on Threads alleges that Apple will start charging for use of Facetime. The post shared the information in text, with no source.<\/p>\n<p>The post reads, \u201cApple is really about to start charging us to use the FaceTime feature , wild.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The claim is inaccurate. Credible news reports, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/factcheck\/2024\/06\/20\/facetime-charge-apple-fact-check\/74155292007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">USA Today<\/a>,<span> have debunked this claim<\/span>. There is no such announcement found in Apple\u2019s<span> <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/newsroom\/\">newsroom<\/a>. Likewise, there is no mention of these charges on their user guide for <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-au\/guide\/iphone\/iph7801d5771\/ios\">Facetime<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Apple recently had its annual<span> <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/HqNPppJlJtY\">Worldwide Developers Conference<\/a><span> <\/span>no such announcement was made.
