Trump&#8217;s\u200d accusations have been a consistent element of his rhetoric, originally surfacing \u200bduring the 2020 campaign. The Biden campaign views these accusations as typical\u200c of Trump&#8217;s confrontational and unsubstantiated attacks. Biden&#8217;s campaign co-chairman \u2063Mitch Landrieu responded to\u200d Trump&#8217;s provocations by highlighting a recent instance where Trump questioned Biden\u2019s\u200d mental fitness but then struggled to recall his own\u2062 doctor\u2019s\u200d name. The former president usually limited these suggestions to jokes, but he upped the ante Monday when he suggested that he and Biden should <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/its-our-choice-to-use-drug-users-erupt-after-san-francisco-moves-to-tie-welfare-to-drug-testing\/\" title=\"'It's Our Choice To Use': Drug Users Erupt After San Francisco Moves To Tie Welfare to Drug Testing\">undergo drug tests<\/a> before their debate Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDRUG TEST FOR CROOKED JOE BIDEN??? I WOULD, ALSO, IMMEDIATELY AGREE TO ONE!!!\u201d Trump wrote in a <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/112673301719650670\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"post\">post<\/a> on Truth Social.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden campaign dismissed Trump\u2019s accusation, referring to remarks made by Biden campaign cochairman Mitch Landrieu in an appearance on <em>Meet the Press<\/em> on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrump\u2019s going to talk trash like that all the time because that\u2019s what he does,\u201d he said. \u201cThe other day, you may remember, he was trying to question our president\u2019s mental acuity, and he could not remember the name of his own doctor, so tell President Trump, bring whatever he\u2019s got \u2014 President Biden will be standing there, ready for him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though perhaps his most straightforward call for Biden to be drug tested, Trump has been toying with the idea since the 2020 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>At the Minnesota Republican Party\u2019s annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner in May, Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3009163\/trump-demand-drug-test-biden-debate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> Biden was going to be \u201cso jacked up\u201d for the debate, alleging that he was \u201chigh as a kite\u201d during his State of the Union Address. He also joked that he would demand a drug test before the debate.<\/p>\n<p>In previous statements, the Biden campaign has denied the president uses any drugs. In an April <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/saradorn\/2024\/04\/04\/trump-suggests-without-evidence-biden-was-higher-than-a-kite-during-state-of-the-union-calls-for-pre-debate-drug-test\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a> to <em>Forbes<\/em>, Biden campaign spokesman Ammar Moussa called Trump\u2019s accusations \u201ca <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ronnie-jackson-demands-biden-submit-to-drug-test-before-debate-with-trump-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Ronnie Jackson demands Biden submit to drug test before debate with Trump - Washington Examiner\">bizarre outburst\u201d meant<\/a> to distract from his policies.<\/p>\n<p>Other Republicans have made similar demands as Trump\u2019s, with Rep. Part of that is probably experimenting with, you know, just getting the doses just right,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Texas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Texas<\/a> Republican said in an appearance on Fox News\u2019s <em>Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause, you know, they have to treat his cognition. They have to give him something to help him think straighter. They have to give him something to wake him up, you know, to for his alertness. And then, you know, he\u2019s been agitated, we see that all the time,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd that\u2019s a common symptom of signs of the cognitive disorder he seems to be suffering from.
