Wade. To mark the second anniversary of this decision, the \u2062DCCC will employ a five-figure\u200b mobile billboard advertising campaign\u200b targeting these politicians in \u2063five \u200bcompetitive \u2063House districts.\u200c The billboards are directed at Representatives Michelle Steel (R-CA), Nick LaLota (R-NY), Brandon Williams (R-NY), Lori\u200b Chavez-DeRemer (R-OR), and \u2063Scott<\/p>\n<p>Perry (R-PA), \u200demphasizing their stance \u200con abortion and attempting to\u2063 highlight the consequences of the Supreme \u2064Court&#8217;s decision.\u200b This \u2062initiative is part of\u200d the Democrats&#8217; \u200clarger strategy to regain the House majority in the 2024 elections.<\/p>\n<p>The overturning of \u200cRoe v. Wade \u200bhas led to a string of abortion \u2062bans and restrictions across various states, adding prominence to the abortion issue in the upcoming 2024 \u2063elections. The DCCC argues \u200bthat these Republican \u2062representatives are extremists aiming to ban abortion and\u2062 restrict reproductive rights nationwide. Meanwhile, some of these targeted Republicans, like Rep. LaLota, defend their actions and accuse\u2064 the Democrats of using scare tactics and spreading misinformation regarding their positions on reproductive rights. Wade<\/a><\/em>, the latest move from Democrats\u2019 campaign arm as Monday marks the second anniversary of the rollback of federal protections for <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>abortion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The DCCC said in a release it will launch a five<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sheldon-whitehouse-invited-three-dark-money-critics-to-testify-to-congress-they-all-take-dark-money\/\" title=\"Sheldon Whitehouse Invited Three Dark Money Critics To Testify to Congress. They All Take Dark Money.\">-figure ad buy<\/a> in the form of mobile billboards in five competitive <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/house-of-representatives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>House<\/a> districts. The billboards will run during this week to target \u201cextreme politicians who endorsed the U.S. <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/supreme-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Supreme Court<\/a>\u2018s dangerous decision to eliminate women\u2019s reproductive freedom nationwide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The billboards will target Reps. Michelle Steel (R-CA), Nick LaLota (R-NY), Brandon Williams (R-NY), Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-OR), and Scott Perry (R-PA). The only seats ranked by <em>Cook Political Report<\/em> as vulnerable are Chavez-DeRemer\u2019s seat as a \u201ctoss-up\u201d and Williams\u2019s seat as \u201clean Democrat.\u201d However, Democrats are convinced these seats, along with others in their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2943438\/dccc-adds-four-candidates-red-to-blue-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>\u201cRed to Blue\u201d program<\/a>, are a secure pathway to retaking the House majority in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHouse Republicans will stop at nothing to ban abortion and restrict reproductive rights nationwide,\u201d DCCC spokesman Justin Chermol said. \u201cOver the next five months, we will ensure the American public does not forget that it was House Republicans who praised Donald Trump\u2019s Supreme Court for ending reproductive freedom as we know it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe DCCC will continue to hold vulnerable House Republicans accountable for their shameless, extreme attacks against fundamental rights and freedoms,\u201d Chermol continued.<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>Pictured: A billboard from the DCCC on Rep. Wade<\/em> is affecting more people than those who are anti-abortion. <\/p>\n<p>In response to the court decision, Alabama\u2019s state legislature passed a bill on March 6 that would extend criminal and civil immunity to IVF clinics for operations. Gov. Kay Ivey (R-AL) signed the legislation into law shortly after its passage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>LaLota said in a statement to the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> that Democrats are resorting to \u201cscare tactics,\u201d a common phrase used by GOP lawmakers to discredit Democrats\u2019 claims that Republicans are anti-IVF.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy opponents, who have misguided views on border policy and inflation, are resorting to abortion lies and scare tactics,\u201d LaLota said. \u201cIn contrast, I have consistently opposed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mcconnell-claims-a-national-abortion-ban-is-possible-if-roe-v-wade-is-overturned\/\" title=\"McConnell Claims A National Abortion Ban Is \u2018Possible\u2019 If Roe V. (DCCC)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>With President Joe Biden on the ticket, Democrats are working to target Republican-held House seats in districts the president won in 2020 or in states Biden is in favor of winning this cycle.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats have worked to portray Steel, whose seat is rated \u201clean Republican,\u201d as an extremist on abortion. Biden won the district by 6.1 points in 2020, and Republicans won the seat by 4.8 points in 2022, making California\u2019s 45th District one of the most closely watched contests this fall.<\/p>\n<p>However, Steel\u2019s campaign is not too concerned about the DCCC\u2019s billboard campaign.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh, no \u2026 not the dreaded mobile billboard! While Derek Tran and the DCCC are busy driving a truck around on the 405, Michelle will continue doing what she\u2019s always done to win reelection: focusing on lowering costs for families, getting the border under control and taking on the Chinese Communist Party,\u201d Lance Trover, a campaign spokesman for Steel, said in a statement to the <em>Washington Examiner.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Williams\u2019s purple district is the only Republican-held seat rated \u201clean Democrat\u201d in 2024 after redistricting shifted his area further into Democrats\u2019 favor.
