Although Sununu had previously been critical of Trump, his stance has softened since Trump became the presumptive Republican nominee \u2062following the withdrawal \u200cof \u2062other candidates. Sununu\u2062 highlighted the\u200b enthusiasm at Trump&#8217;s rallies compared to those of Joe Biden, noting the chants of &#8220;USA,\u2063 USA&#8221; at Trump&#8217;s events which \u2064he interprets as \u200da\u2063 display of patriotism and optimism. He contrasted this with what he \u2063perceives as\u2064 a lack of excitement at Biden\u2019s rallies. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/new-hampshire\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>New Hampshire<\/a> governor was asked about a statement Trump made on visiting Pennsylvania, during which the former president said that \u201cpeople need hope.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust listen to that positivity,\u201d Sununu said on Fox News\u2019s <em>One Nation with Brian Kilmeade.<\/em> \u201cWhen he does a rally, they\u2019re chanting \u2018USA, USA.\u2019 These are patriots; these are people that love their country, they want hope, they want optimism about getting things turned around and bringing it back. Watch a Joe Biden rally; is anyone chanting \u2018USA, USA?\u2019 No, they\u2019re just praying he gets through it without falling asleep. I mean, literally. So there\u2019s no excitement on the other side, there\u2019s no energy, and that\u2019s what, kind of galvanizing \u2014 people can agree with you, but are you inspiring them to do something different? Are you inspiring them to be a better version of themselves?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sununu noted how Trump\u2019s visit to multiple states is not necessarily a way for him to win these states but rather a means for him to show \u201cthat everyone matters.\u201d He contended that not doing this was a mistake by then-presidential candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/hillary-clinton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Hillary Clinton<\/a> in 2016, noting how Trump\u2019s visits to these states appear to mirror what he did in his first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-this-average-american-is-voting-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"Why This Average American Is Voting for Donald Trump\">presidential campaign<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The New Hampshire governor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2780715\/sununus-new-hampshire-endorsement-of-nikki-haley-an-energizing-moment-against-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>had previously endorsed<\/a> former U.N. ambassador <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/nikki-haley\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Nikki Haley<\/a> in the Republican presidential primary, though Haley suspended her campaign after Trump won most of the Super Tuesday primary elections.
