Trump, who was \u2064found\u2063 guilty of 34\u2062 felonies in his \u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/donald-trumps-criminal-hush-money-trial-set-for-march-25\/\" title=\"Trump's hush money trial scheduled for March 25\">hush money trial<\/a>, would not have faced charges if he were not a presidential candidate again, according to Cuomo. During \u2064an\u2062 appearance on &#8220;Real Time\u200d with Bill Maher,&#8221; Cuomo, who is also a former New York Attorney General, expressed concerns that the politicization of justice \u200dundermines public trust in the system. Regarding the upcoming election, Cuomo commented \u200don President Joe Biden&#8217;s campaign,\u2064 suggesting it was lackluster and highlighted concerns over Biden&#8217;s age and effectiveness. He emphasized that Biden needs\u2064 to actively engage \u2063with\u2063 voters to address\u200c these concerns. In reflecting on this historic landmark, Cuomo contended that people are right to be upset about Trump\u2019s guilty verdict, arguing that the case \u201cwould have never been brought\u201d if Trump was not running for president again. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat case, the attorney general\u2019s case in New York, frankly, should never have been brought,\u201d Cuomo said on <em>Real Time with Bill Maher<\/em>. \u201cAnd if his name was not Donald Trump, and if he wasn\u2019t running for president, I\u2019m the former AG of New York, I\u2019m telling you, that case would have never been brought. And that\u2019s what is offensive to people, and it should be! The former governor noted that Biden will need to answer \u201ca big question\u201d regarding his age and viability to serve as president, arguing that the only way to answer this is by \u201cgetting out there and letting people see you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cuomo was joined by former Illinois Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/adam-kinzinger\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Adam Kinzinger<\/a>, a frequent critic of Trump, who argued that Biden needs to be more aggressive with Trump in the months to come. Kinzinger noted how Trump has \u201cthat lizard brain\u201d that tells voters what they want to hear and that he is able to reach out to these voters with his promises.<\/p>\n<p>The first presidential debate will be held this Thursday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3046498\/cnn-announces-rules-for-first-presidential-debate-muted-mics-and-no-notes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>with several new rules<\/a> that include candidates\u2019s mics getting cut when it\u2019s not their turn to talk, having no public audience, and having no pre-written notes.
