According to a recent Emerson College Polling\/The Hill poll, \u2064Trump and current President Joe Biden are tied at 45\u2063 percent in Minnesota. Other \u200bpolls indicate that Trump is similarly\u200d close, all\u2064 within the \u2062margin\u2064 of error.<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota last favored a Republican president in 1972 with Richard Nixon. The\u200d state&#8217;s close\u2062 vote counts in previous elections (a \u2063less than 45,000 vote margin in 2016 and less than 100,000 votes in 2004) suggest it could be a battleground state in the upcoming election. The narrowness of Biden&#8217;s past win in 2020 and other close races suggest the state \u200dcould swing either way, influenced by voter dissatisfaction with Biden&#8217;s handling\u2062 of key issues like the \u2064economy and illegal immigration.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, polling from various \u2063sources shows Trump leading in several \u2063other swing \u2062states, \u200dincluding Arizona, \u2063Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia. Trump leads in all of them, Minnesota is tied:<\/p>\n<p>Arizona: Trump +4<br \/> Georgia: Trump +4<br \/> Michigan: Trump +1<br \/> Minnesota: TIE<br \/> Nevada: Trump +3<br \/> Pennsylvania: Trump +2<br \/> Wisconsin: Trump +3<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/pCrjSIJ4NC\">https:\/\/t.co\/pCrjSIJ4NC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Tom Bevan (@TomBevanRCP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TomBevanRCP\/status\/1803807121324101673?\">June 20, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Other polls have Biden leading in Minnesota but by an increasingly narrow margin.<\/p>\n<p>The president was shown leading Trump by 4 points, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apmresearchlab.org\/minnesota-poll-june-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mason-Dixon Polling &#038; Strategy<\/a> findings from June.<\/p>\n<p>In May, Biden was also leading there by a slim 2-point margin in a <a href=\"https:\/\/kstp.com\/kstp-news\/top-news\/kstp-surveyusa-poll-hush-money-trial-leaves-no-impact-on-presidential-race-in-minnesota\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KSTP\/SurveyUSA poll<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/2020-election\/results\/minnesota\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">he won<\/a> Minnesota by a 7.2 percent margin, which was on track with historical trends.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016, then-Democratic nominee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/2016-election\/results\/map\/president\/minnesota\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hillary Clinton<\/a> won the state by a 1.5 percent margin. Former President Barack Obama won Minnesota in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/2012-election\/results\/president\/minnesota\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2012<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.nytimes.com\/www.nytimes.com\/elections\/2008\/results\/states\/minnesota.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2008<\/a> by margins of 7.7 percent and 10.2 percent, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reason Donald Trump can run so close in Minnesota is the general level of dissatisfaction with Joe Biden\u2019s presidency, especially in his handling of the economy and illegal immigration,\u201d McHenry told DCNF.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnless voters change their minds about the economy, states that narrowly voted for President Biden in 2020 are going to flip, and states that gave him a more solid margin like Minnesota are going to be very close,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roanoke.edu\/news\/rc_poll_politics_may_2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Roanoke College poll<\/a>, Trump and Biden were also tied in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.270towin.com\/states\/Virginia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Virginia<\/a>, which has not voted for a Republican since former President George W. Bush in 2004.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/trump-vs-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RealClearPolitics<\/a> polling averages, Trump currently leads in all swing states.<\/p>\n<p>The former president is leading in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/arizona\/trump-vs-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Arizona<\/a> by 4.6 points and in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/nevada\/trump-vs-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nevada<\/a> by 5.7 points. In the Rust Belt, he is leading in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/wisconsin\/trump-vs-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wisconsin<\/a> by 0.3 points, in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/michigan\/trump-vs-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Michigan<\/a> by 0.2 points and in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/pennsylvania\/trump-vs-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pennsylvania<\/a> by 2.3 points. In the South, Trump is leading in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/north-carolina\/trump-vs-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">North Carolina<\/a> by 5.3 points and in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/georgia\/trump-vs-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Georgia<\/a> by 5 points.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the swing states we\u2019ve polled, majorities of voters say they were better off financially under Donald Trump, so the Trump campaign is probably three-quarters of the way there,\u201d McHenry told the DCNF.<\/p>\n<p>In a five-way race with Trump, Biden, independent candidate Robert F.
