Bob Good (R-VA) is sounding the alarm on <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/election-interference\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>election integrity<\/a> in his <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/virginia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Virginia<\/a> primary race against challenger John McGuire. The <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>race<\/a> is too close to call, and Good vowed to pursue a recount on Friday evening.<\/p>\n<p>The Republican incumbent claims that a county registrar\u2019s office improperly started a ballot process two hours early with someone from McGuire\u2019s team present without notifying Good\u2019s team. He additionally pointed to alleged fires in three voting precincts on Election Day, which was Tuesday.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<div>\n<blockquote data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We had 3 \u201cfires\u201d on election day in 3 precincts, all requiring the precincts to be evacuated for 20 minutes. Albemarle County, Hanover County, and Lynchburg City. What is the probability? Does anyone recall even 1 fire at a precinct on election day?<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Bob Good for Congress (@GoodForCongress) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GoodForCongress\/status\/1803958697846267979?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 21, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe are committed to making sure every legal vote is counted in what remains a very close race that will likely be in recount territory,\u201d Good\u2019s senior advisor and campaign manager Diana Shores told the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>. \u201cWe believe the public should be informed of incidents that occurred on both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/election-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Election Day<\/a> and in the canvassing process since, and we will continue to educate them on the process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Good\u2019s campaign penned a legal letter about the canvass process and submitted Freedom of Information Act requests regarding the fire alarms on Friday. Virginia election officials claimed that no fires actually occurred at polling places, adding that any fire alarms that sounded at those precincts had little, if any, impact on election operations.<\/p>\n<p>The Virginia Department of Elections results showed Good down by just 330 votes on Friday. Two polls <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.fivethirtyeight.com\/polls\/virginia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>released<\/a> at the beginning of June previewed Good\u2019s matchup with McGuire. One poll conducted by WPA Intelligence and sponsored by Virginia Faith &#038; Freedom Coalition put Good\u2019s challenger ahead by 10 points, while a poll sponsored by a super PAC that endorses Good had him up by 9 points.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>McGuire received the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/congressional\/3018819\/trump-endorses-bob-good-primary-challenger-mcguire\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>endorsement<\/a> of former president Donald Trump at the end of May, after Good endorsed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) for president before he dropped out. Trump said the navy seal and state legislator gives him the best chance to \u201cMAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN\u201d while taking shots at Good for \u201cturn[ing] his back on our incredible movement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McGuire has already declared victory in his race against Good, but as long as his margin of victory remains below 1%, Good has grounds to call for a recount.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rep.
