And in fact, we tried, in many, many quiet conversations between our officials and American officials, and between me and the president, to try to iron out this diminution of supply,\u201d Netanyahu <a href=\"https:\/\/punchbowl.news\/article\/foreign-policy\/jake-sherman-benjamin-netanyahu-full-transcript\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">told<\/a> <em>Punchbowl News<\/em>. \u201cAnd we haven\u2019t been able to solve it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/uk-govt-lockdown-to-last-12-months-expect-repeated-vaccinations\/\" title=\"UK Govt: Lockdown to Last 12+ Months, Expect Repeated Vaccinations\">prime minister<\/a> said he believes \u201cit could be solved instantaneously with goodwill\u201d but declined to explain what was prompting the alleged slowdown of weapons. \u201cI felt that airing it was absolutely necessary after months of quiet conversation that did not solve the problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI raised this issue with Secretary [Antony] Blinken,\u201d Netanyahu added. \u201cAnd I said that we are being told by our Defense Department officials that barely a trickle is coming in. He said, \u2018Well, everything is in process. We\u2019re doing everything to untangle it. And to clear up the bottlenecks.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration pushed back on Netanyahu\u2019s claim and expressed its disappointment at it.<\/p>\n<p>Netanyahu\u2019s video \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/world\/3053676\/us-israel-war-of-words-escalates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"was perplexing to say the least\">was perplexing, to say the least<\/a>, certainly disappointing, especially given that no other country is doing more to help Israel defend itself against the threat by Hamas, and quite frankly, other threats that they\u2019re facing in the region than the United States,\u201d National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said on Thursday. \u201cI think we\u2019ve made it abundantly clear to our Israeli counterparts through various vehicles our deep disappointment in the statements expressed in that video and our concerns over the accuracy in the statements made.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An NSC spokesperson declined to provide a response to Netanyahu\u2019s new claims made in the interview and instead referred the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> to Kirby\u2019s remarks.<\/p>\n<p>Netanyahu\u2019s office said U.S. Ambassador to Israel Jack Lew told the prime minister on Tuesday that the ammunition and weapons he was referencing \u201care in the process of being delivered to Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. has provided Israel with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/inspectors-general-overseeing-aid-to-ukraine-face-lawmakers\/\" title=\"Inspectors general overseeing aid to Ukraine face lawmakers\">significant military aid<\/a> over the course of the war and deployed resources to the Middle East to deter Israeli adversaries from acting following the Oct. 7 Hamas attack that left roughly 1,200 people dead and about 250 taken hostage.<\/p>\n<p>Both Biden and Netanyahu face difficult domestic political landscapes. The U.S. president, a historically staunch Israel supporter, is facing backlash from the Democratic Party\u2019s progressive side, which has called for him to demand an end to the war and to stop providing military aid to Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Netanyahu recently disbanded the wartime cabinet. He is still beholden to the ultranationalist members of his coalition, whose wartime strategies are strongly opposed by most international leaders, and is facing questions from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fncs-carlson-its-time-for-the-democrats-to-accept-their-victory-forgive-the-team-they-beat-and-to-move-on-you-won-be-happy\/\" title=\"FNC's Carlson: It's Time for the Democrats to 'Accept Their Victory,' 'Forgive the Team They Beat and to Move On' -- 'You Won, Be Happy'\">military leaders<\/a> about war strategy.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesman for Israel\u2019s military has said the idea of eliminating Hamas \u201cis wrong\u201d because the group \u201cis an idea,\u201d which seemingly was an indirect criticism of the lack of public planning for how Israel will wind down the war and what happens after it ends.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Netanyahu\u2019s office indirectly responded to Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari\u2019s comments, saying, \u201cThe Security Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has defined the destruction of Hamas\u2019 military and governing capabilities as one of the goals of the war. The IDF, of course, is committed to this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said Israel will have some role to play in preventing a \u201cresurgent terrorist effort\u201d while there will also be \u201ca civilian administration to administer not only the distribution of humanitarian aid but also civil administration,\u201d and he believes that should be done \u201cwith the cooperation\u201d of Arab countries.
