The \u200bcampaign has already established 16 offices and employed over 60 staff members, outpacing the\u2064 investment made in 2020 and surpassing Hillary Clinton&#8217;s 2016 efforts. To date, the\u2062 campaign has \u200cpoured\u2063 $5.2 \u2063million into\u2064 the \u200dstate, \u200ca \u2062move designed\u2062 partly to force a financial countermove from Donald \u2063Trump\u2019s campaign, which hasn&#8217;t spent \u200bany money there yet.<\/p>\n<p>Pollster Geoff Garin describes\u2063 the efforts as &#8220;bigger, bolder&#8221; than anything Trump&#8217;s side has launched. Despite losing \u2064North Carolina to Trump by a narrow margin in \u20622020,\u2062 Biden&#8217;s team remains optimistic,\u2064 citing Democratic successes in several \u200dother statewide elections. Biden plans to \u200cvisit the \u200cstate again next week, marking his fourth visit this year, while Vice President Kamala Harris has visited five times.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign also hopes to capitalize on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-attorneys-respond-to-ludicrous-doj-brief-asking-judge-to-stay-on\/\" title=\"Trump's lawyers dismiss DOJ's request for judge to stay on as 'ridiculous'.\">controversial statements made<\/a> by Mark Robinson, the Republican Lieutenant \u200cGovernor candidate, whose extreme views might <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/buzz-about-buttigieg-as-2024-candidate-overlooks-his-far-left-agenda-analysts-say\/\" title=\"Buzz About Buttigieg as 2024 Candidate Overlooks His Far-Left Agenda, Analysts Say\">alienate moderate voters<\/a>. Biden\u2019s campaign is making a vigorous attempt to sway North Carolina in his favor for the upcoming election.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The campaign to reelect President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Joe Biden<\/a> is planning on spending millions in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/north-carolina\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>North Carolina<\/a>, hopeful they can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2914841\/biden-follows-obamas-lead-again-with-push-to-capture-north-carolina\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>flip the state blue<\/a> as the Obama-Biden ticket once did. <\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s campaign has 16 offices and hired more than 60 staff members in the state so far, which is more than he invested in the state in 2020 and Hillary Clinton did in 2016. The Biden campaign has spent $5.2 million in the Tar Heel state as of June 19, an investment that could force former President Donald Trump\u2019s campaign to spend money in the Republican-leaning state. So far, Trump\u2019s campaign has not spent anything in North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a bigger, bolder effort,\u201d Geoff Garin, a Biden pollster, told the<em> <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/politics\/elections\/joe-biden-campaign-north-carolina-2024-election-4fe5a736?mod=hp_lead_pos1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><em>Wall Street Journal<\/em><\/a>. \u201cAnd there\u2019s nothing like it on the Trump side.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden lost the state to Trump in 2020 by just more than 1 percentage point. Before former President Barack Obama captured the state in 2008, the last time North Carolina chose a Democrat for the presidency was in 1976 for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Jimmy-Carter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Jimmy Carter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The president is expected to visit North Carolina next week, his fourth visit to the state this year. Seven in eight of the recent gubernatorial elections were won by Democrats. The elections for the U.S. Senate were close in both 2020 and 2022, with Republicans winning seats by less than 4 points each year.<\/p>\n<p>In this year\u2019s governor\u2019s race, North Carolina\u2019s Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein will face Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson (R-NC). Robinson was a Trump-endorsed candidate who concerns some mainstream Republicans over his previous comments, where he denied the Holocaust and said the victims of the 2018 Parkland school shooting were \u201cspoiled, angry, know-it-all children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Biden campaign looks hopeful that some of Robinson\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/804552359\/posts\/pfbid0AihssktAjTqVNW2iJ2nTAn3gsFjZYyJHK75wvNcdYpa6VMDzJUjuPkpXZkKceSZzl\/?mibextid=DcJ9fc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>extremist<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/mark.k.robinson.3\/posts\/pfbid02G8s51gReW3GvPnxKbeCVzQAJ8DvX9Pf5Xnq7ovn92iZ98H7ezfqqn9RVYL2cvufdl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>views<\/a> could turn people away from him and provide up and down the ballot support for Democrats. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that Biden and Stein are going to lift each other up in this race in different ways and with different groups of voters,\u201d Garin said.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s loss there in 2020, which was by about 74,000 votes, was the closest a Democrat has come to winning the presidency there since Obama in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>North Carolina\u2019s growing population also looks favorable for Biden as more than 100,000 new people have moved to the state since 2020. Charlotte and Raleigh are among the <a href=\"https:\/\/carolinademography.cpc.unc.edu\/2023\/02\/21\/raleigh-charlotte-make-top-10-list-for-fastest-growing-large-metros-in-the-united-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>top 10<\/a> metro areas for growth nationally, and many residents have come from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-red-states-recovered-faster-from-pandemic-than-blue-states\/\" title=\"Report: Red States Recovered Faster From Pandemic Than Blue States\">blue-leaning states<\/a> such as New York and California.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the issue for Biden\u2019s campaign, however, may be increasing voter morale and making sure people actually turn out here. In North Carolina presidential elections, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/conservatives-get-busy-ballot-harvesting-or-get-busy-losing\/\" title=\"Conservatives, Harvest Ballots or Lose.\">black voters turned<\/a> out in 2008 with 73% of the demographic voting, but turnout fell to 68% in 2020 and hit a low of 63% in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf those folks decide to show up at their political strength, we could see the tipping of North Carolina,\u201d said Michael Bitzer, a professor of politics and history at Catawba College.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/voting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Voter turnout<\/a> in Mecklenburg, which includes Charlotte and is the state\u2019s second largest, was below the state\u2019s average in 2020.
