Roberts\u2019 involvement in gender-affirmative \u200bcare and his alliance with \u2062activist groups \u2063have raised \u200dcontroversy, especially given his connections to pharmaceutical companies through memberships in organizations like GLMA, which \u200cis financially supported by major\u2064 pharmaceutical lobbyists and \u2063companies that benefit from the\u2062 gender-related medical industry.<\/p>\n<p>Organizations such as GLMA and PFLAG, which advocate\u2063 for transgender\u200d medical practices for minors and are involved in lawsuits alongside Roberts, also\u2063 receive funding from pharmaceutical companies \u2064that produce relevant medical \u2062treatments. He was also one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lambdalegal.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Exh.-8-Affidavit-of-Richard-Ogden-Roberts-III-MD.pdf\">plaintiffs<\/a> in a <a href=\"https:\/\/lambdalegal.org\/case\/loe-v-texas\/\">lawsuit<\/a> that sought to halt a ban against child sex changes, leveraging his medical credentials as he worked alongside radical activist organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Now he\u2019s found himself at the center of a new scandal at the hospital, which has been enveloped in criticism after one whistleblower exposed the hospital for lying to the public about their offerings of transgender medical interventions to children and was then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/a-doctor-blew-the-whistle-on-his-hospitals-transgender-clinic-now-the-feds-are-trying-to-ruin-his-life\">targeted by the federal government<\/a> as a result.<\/p>\n<p>New <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/texas-childrens-hospital-may-have-committed-fraud-as-it-provided-child-sex-changes-whistleblower\">allegations<\/a> that Roberts committed Medicaid fraud have cast further doubt on his so-called \u201cgender-affirming care\u201d operation, with a whistleblower claiming that the hospital \u201cis illegally billing Medicaid for transgender procedures\u201d with the help of Roberts, who is now being <a href=\"https:\/\/christopherrufo.com\/p\/texas-childrens-hospital-now-under\">investigated<\/a> by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton since the state <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2023\/03\/24\/texas-transgender-kids-transition-related-health-care\/\">bars the use<\/a> of Medicaid funds for any and all medical interventions that seek to change people\u2019s sex.<\/p>\n<p>Roberts embodies the partnership between radical transgender ideologues and the medical establishment. A closer look at Robert\u2019s effort to halt Texas\u2019 ban on child sex changes indicates that the doctor formed an alliance with far-left ideologues and activist groups, many of which enjoy the backing of the pharmaceutical companies that stand to profit from transgenderism in the process.<\/p>\n<p>Roberts himself has clearly adopted the core tenets of leftwing gender ideology. In one presentation on behalf of the Texas Children\u2019s Hospital, Roberts repeated the line that child sex change procedures are \u201clife saving and medically necessary\u201d care, and even explained that he uses the preferred names and pronouns of \u201cgender diverse\u201d children behind the backs of parents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will often ask patients by themselves if there\u2019s a name that they use privately and that they would like me to use around them, and if they are comfortable with me using that name and their pronouns with parents,\u201d the pediatric doctor told the audience.<\/p>\n<p>It was fitting, then, when Roberts, a doctor ensnared by gender ideology, teamed up with professional transgender activists to try and stop the Texas bill.<\/p>\n<p>One of the organizations <a href=\"https:\/\/glma.org\/news_manager.php?page=27415\">listed<\/a> alongside Roberts in the lawsuit against Texas\u2019 bill in defense of children is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.glma.org\/\">GLMA<\/a>: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ+ Equality. The organization advocates for the use of sex change operations on children and maintains what it calls an \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.glma.org\/equality_maps_bans_on_trans_y.php\">equality map<\/a>\u201d that documents legislation that allegedly harms transgender youth \u201cby blocking their access to best-practice medical care.\u201d GLMA counts Roberts as one of its members, indicating that the embattled doctor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.memberleap.com\/members\/newmem\/new-mem-reg.php?org_id=GLMA\">pays annual membership dues<\/a> to the transgender activist organization.<\/p>\n<p>PFLAG, one of the most powerful pro-transgender organizations in the country, was also a plaintiff alongside Roberts. The extreme organization directly promotes gender ideology to children and published a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/pflag.org\/resource\/transgender-reading-list-for-children\/\">transgender reading list for children<\/a>.\u201d The list includes \u201cI Am Jazz,\u201d a story about \u201ca transgender child based on the real-life experience of Jazz Jennings,\u201d as well as the \u201cGender Now Coloring Book,\u201d which is \u201cmeant to provide reflection and support unity by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-air-force-celebrates-pride-month-with-ceo-of-organization-advocating-for-child-gender-transitions\/\" title=\"EXCLUSIVE: Air Force Marks Pride Month with CEO Supporting Child Gender Transitions\">showing multiple genders standing<\/a> together.\u201d There\u2019s also \u201cWhat Makes a Baby,\u201d described as a \u201cchildren\u2019s book that takes gender out of making a baby.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>GLMA is backed by the pharmaceutical industry. Its website notes that it counts perhaps the single most powerful pharmaceutical lobbying organization, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), as a sponsor. PhRMA <a href=\"https:\/\/phrma.org\/-\/media\/Project\/PhRMA\/PhRMA-Org\/PhRMA-Org\/PDF\/A-C\/About-PhRMA2.pdf\">represents<\/a> several different companies that produce drugs used by those attempting to modify their sex, including Abbvie, Bayer, Pfizer, Novo Nordisk, Teva US Speciality Medicines, and Eli Lilly.<\/p>\n<p>The companies under its umbrella collectively produce drugs that are used to block puberty, as well as estrogen and testosterone drugs. PhRMA is no stranger to backing the transgender movement, which many of the companies it represents have a financial stake in. Together with Pfizer, the lobbying organization previously <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/how-left-wing-activist-group-teamed-up-with-big-pharma-to-push-radical-gender-ideology-on-american-hospitals\/\">bankrolled a project<\/a> from the Human Rights Coalition, an influential LGBT activist group, as it pushed gender ideology into hospitals across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Novo Nordisk, another pharmaceutical company with financial interests in transgenderism, backs the organization that Roberts is a member of and that sued Texas alongside the doctor. The company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.novonordisk.com\/our-products\/our-medicines.html\">produces<\/a> six different estrogen drugs classified as estradiol, which can be used off-label in men who identify as women.<\/p>\n<p>GLMA is also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canva.com\/design\/DAFT6AS0c8A\/o-gzEtDQaLRUcbctZMf8Tg\/view?utm_content=DAFT6AS0c8A&#038;utm_campaign=designshare&#038;utm_medium=link&#038;utm_source=publishsharelink#8\">sponsored<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/pfizer-sponsored-group-pushing-child-transgenderism-profits-from-puberty-blockers-hormone-therapy\">Pfizer Rx Pathways<\/a>, a project of the infamous pharmaceutical titan that produces drugs used by those who are attempting to change their sex. Pfizer, for example, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pfizermedicalinformation.com\/en-us\/aldactone#:~:text=ALDACTONE%C2%AE(spironolactone)%20%7C%20Pfizer%20Medical%20Information%20%2D%20US\">Aldactone<\/a>, a product that has been called \u201cthe most commonly used <a href=\"https:\/\/transcare.ucsf.edu\/guidelines\/feminizing-hormone-therapy\">androgen blocker<\/a> in the U.S.,\u201d by the University of California San Francisco Gender Affirming Health Program. There\u2019s also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pfizermedicalinformation.com\/en-us\/depo-provera\">Depo-Provera<\/a>, a Pfizer product <a href=\"https:\/\/transcare.ucsf.edu\/guidelines\/feminizing-hormone-therapy\">used<\/a> to feminize men who identify as women, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pfizermedicalinformation.com\/en-us\/depo-testosterone\/description\">Depo-Testosterone<\/a>, an injection <a href=\"https:\/\/transcare.ucsf.edu\/guidelines\/masculinizing-therapy\">used by<\/a> women who are attempting to become men. The pharmaceutical titan also makes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pfizermedicalinformation.com\/en-us\/synarel\/indications-usage\">Synarel<\/a>, a drug that can <a href=\"https:\/\/transhealthproject.org\/resources\/health-insurance-medical-policies\/views\/youth-services\/\">block puberty<\/a>. Synarel is a nasal spray and has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gendergp.com\/help-centre\/injection-alternatives-hormone-blockers-nasal-spray-suprafect\/\">suggested<\/a> as an alternative to injections.<\/p>\n<p>GLMA isn\u2019t the only transgender activist organization that receives funding from pharmaceutical interests and attempted to stop Texas\u2019 bill, however.<\/p>\n<p>Like GLMA, PFLAG too has taken money from pharmaceutical interests that stand to gain from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-how-one-of-americas-largest-school-districts-became-a-pipeline-for-a-trans-youth-clinic\/\" title=\"How a Major US School District Became a Trans Youth Clinic Pipeline\">child sex change attempts<\/a>. Abbvie Pharmaceuticals, the company behind a puberty blocking drug called Lupron Depot that has been successfully used to <a href=\"https:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/study\/NCT00220350\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-trailer-released-for-matt-walshs-what-is-a-woman-documentary\/\" title=\"New Trailer Released for Matt Walsh\u2019s \u201cWhat Is a Woman\u201d Documentary\">chemically castrate sex offenders<\/a><\/a>, previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abbvie.com\/who-we-are\/our-stories\/love-is-love-is-love.html\">indicated<\/a> that it financially supported PFLAG, among other organizations that push child transgenderism.<\/p>\n<p>Pharmaceutical companies had a role in funding both the plaintiffs in the case as well as the activist law firms that represented them.<\/p>\n<p>The Transgender Law Center, which was among the organizations that represented Roberts and the other plaintiffs, also <a href=\"https:\/\/transgenderlawcenter.org\/2022-donors\/\">boasts big pharmaceutical backers<\/a>. Nestled between the names of individual donors is Pfizer, which creates the aforementioned litany of drugs used in gender transition attempts, and Bayer Pharmaceuticals, the company behind an anti-androgen drug <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC6612061\/\">used<\/a> to feminize men who identify as women. Lambda Legal, yet another pro-transgender organization that represented the plaintiffs, <a href=\"https:\/\/lambdalegal.org\/national-sponsorships\/\">took money<\/a> from Eli Lilly, the manufacturer of the testosterone therapy drug Axiron.<\/p>\n<p>As connections between activists and medical interests have become increasingly apparent, some have warned that an unholy alliance between the two was being formed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese medical interventions are costly, and they must be maintained for the lifetime of the user, generating significant profits for Big Pharma,\u201d January Littlejohn, a Parent Advocate with Do No Harm, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/pfizer-sponsored-group-pushing-child-transgenderism-profits-from-puberty-blockers-hormone-therapy\">told The Daily Wire<\/a> last year. \u201cIt is not surprising that big pharma would partner with an organization aiming to normalize a mental health issue from which they would profit immensely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Richard Ogden Roberts III, a pediatric endocrinologist at Texas Children\u2019s Hospital, treats gender dysphoria in youth with puberty blockers and hormones.
