The senator accused President Biden of misleading the public and undermining \u2064an\u200c important \u200cally \u200bin the Middle East.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/tom-cotton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tom Cotton<\/a> (R-AR) unloaded on President Joe Biden in a letter this week over the administration\u2019s efforts to withhold weapons and ammunitions shipments from Israel as Democrats look to quell anger from the pro-Hamas-wing of their party.<\/p>\n<p>Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called out the Biden administration on Tuesday for the decision to delay the shipments, which came just hours after The Wall Street Journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/world\/congressional-leaders-allow-major-arms-sale-to-israel-to-proceed-after-white-house-pressure-f2e48389\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> earlier in the day that the administration was withholding a fleet of F-15 jets being shipped to Israel, even though Congress approved the sale a month ago.<\/p>\n<p>The administration has withheld everything from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/world\/middle-east\/u-s-blocks-shipment-of-rifles-to-israel-over-concerns-of-west-bank-settler-violence-9764c87d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rifles<\/a> meant to arm local Israeli communities who are at risk of being overrun by Islamic terrorists to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/world\/middle-east\/u-s-delays-sending-precision-weapons-to-israel-253f12f0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">precision bombs<\/a> that could <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/what-is-proportional-the-madness-of-condemning-israels-disproportionate-use-of-self-defense-against-terrorism\/\" title=\"What IS Proportional? The Madness Of Condemning Israel\u2019s \u2018Disproportionate\u2019 Use Of Self-Defense Against Terrorism\">reduce collateral damage<\/a> in the war.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI write regarding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu\u2019s public statement this week that your administration has been withholding weapons and ammunition from Israel and hampering its war effort against Hamas\u2014a serious accusation from a trusted U.S. ally,\u201d Cotton\u2019s letter, which was <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/biden_weapons_hold_letter.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">obtained<\/a> by reporter Adam Kredo, began. \u201cYour administration responded by claiming that aid is flowing normally, with one official asserting, \u2018We genuinely do not know what he\u2019s talking about.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cotton noted that the administration\u2019s claim that the only delay is on a shipment of 2,000-pound and 500-pound bombs was false.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re deliberately misleading the American people and insulting a key ally,\u201d he said. \u201cAs you are aware, the Arms Export Control Act requires the administration to notify Congress before sending weapons to a foreign country. Yet, it appears that you stopped acknowledging the emergency in Israel after receiving a letter from nearly twenty congressional Democrats in January, urging you to end expedited weapons sales to Israel. Though your administration reportedly released a ship carrying at least some of these arms on Wednesday, that modest step doesn\u2019t cure the damage done by the delay.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re playing politics with the nation\u2019s honor and our ally\u2019s security,\u201d he continued. \u201cWorse still, your administration lacks the honesty to communicate its true policy to the American people, instead preferring to hide behind weasel words and bureaucratic process. Any delays to military support to Israel blatantly disregard Congress\u2019s bipartisan mandate to supply Israel with all it needs to defeat the Hamas terrorists and other Iranian-backed groups. Our ally is under sustained threat, and we must use all available resources to expedite military aid.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cotton then demanded that the administration provide answers to a list of questions by July 1, 2024, including details about additional weapons that they are delaying sending to Israel, all requests that Israel has made for support, all weapons that Israel has asked to be expedited to them, what the administration\u2019s justification is for not promptly delivering the orders, and more.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sen.
