She has been particularly vocal about the need for Justices Samuel \u2064Alito and Clarence\u2063 Thomas to recuse themselves from\u200c cases which may present conflicts of\u2062 interests, including an\u2064 upcoming case \u2062regarding former President Donald Trump&#8217;s claim to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-kyle-rittenhouse-could-sue-media-outlets-for-defamation\/\" title=\"Report: Kyle Rittenhouse Could Sue Media Outlets for Defamation\">presidential immunity<\/a>. Alongside Representative Jamie Raskin\u2064 (D-MA), Ocasio-Cortez has pressured\u200d Chief Justice John \u2064Roberts to\u2064 enforce these recusals, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the\u2064 issue to protect democracy. Ocasio-Cortez has been one of the most vocal lawmakers calling for Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas to recuse themselves, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3052968\/aoc-raskin-pressure-supreme-court-new-demands-roberts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"joining with\">joining with<\/a> Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MA) in urging Chief Justice John Roberts to force their recusals.<\/p>\n<p>She stepped up her calls on Thursday, warning of a \u201ccorruption crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a corruption crisis on the Supreme Court,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez wrote on X. \u201cAnd that court has shown time and time again that it is not capable of policing itself. Congress, as a co-equal branch, must rein them in. Each day we do not, our democracy is at greater risk than the last.
