South Dakota took the No. 1 spot with an average of 1.6 fatalities on Independence Day, which is a 244% increase from a typical July day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDriving during a national holiday is always a risk. Increased road traffic as people travel to attend events, visit friends and family, or vacation can lead to congestion, delays, and a higher likelihood of accidents,\u201d an Omega Law Group spokesperson explained. \u201cUnfortunately, those who choose to drink and then drive are the ones increasing the risk of accidents.
