However, the group still holds an advantage over the NRCC after raising $191 million so far this cycle, with $78.8 million cash on hand heading into June. <\/p>\n<p>The significant haul for the NRCC comes as Trump and other Republican groups have reported massive fundraising numbers for the month of May, which could help the former president close the gap with President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Joe-Biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Joe Biden<\/a> as the November election nears.<\/p>\n<p>Trump and the Republican National Committee raised $141 million in May, spurred in part by his criminal conviction in New York last week.
