His trial is scheduled to begin on July 9\u200d in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where prosecutors will delve deeper into his \u200cactions and conduct during the filming of *Rust*.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_79\">\n<p>Actor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/alec-baldwin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Alec Baldwin\">Alec Baldwin<\/a> was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mccormick-concedes-to-oz-in-pa-senate-primary\/\" title=\"McCormick Concedes To Oz In PA Senate Primary\">allegedly \u201cengaged<\/a> in horseplay with his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/guns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"gun\">gun<\/a>\u201d and \u201cfired a blank round at a crew member\u201d prior to the 2021 fatal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/shooting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"film\">shooting<\/a> of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injury of director Joel Souza on the <em>Rust <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/film\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"film\">film<\/a> set, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/nmcourts.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/June-17-2024-States-Notice-to-Introduce-Other-Acts-Evidence-839p.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"new court filing\">new court filing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors are examining how the actor \u201cflouted security protocols\u201d leading up to the death of Hutchins. <\/p>\n<p>His trial is slated to start in a few weeks on July 9 in Santa Fe, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/new-mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"New Mexico\">New Mexico<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the court filing, it said he \u201cdisplayed erratic and aggressive behavior during the filming of Rust that created potential safety concerns.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The filing went on to describe how he \u201cdisplayed reckless behavior as it related to the use of a firearm, such as pointing it and firing a blank round at a crew member while using that crew member as a line of site as his perceived target.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The prosecution plans to show other examples of how Baldwin violated safety rules by rushing the film armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed \u201cto reload and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/search-and-rescue-teams-at-site-of-indonesian-plane-crash\/\" title=\"Search and rescue teams at site of Indonesian plane crash\">crew members<\/a> to work at a faster pace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 26-year-old armorer was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in April and sentenced to 18 months in prison, the maximum possible punishment.<\/p>\n<p>Other claims in the court filing said that Baldwin was distracted during firearms training because he was talking to his family on FaceTime.<\/p>\n<p>The court document said he \u201cwas inattentive during the firearms training conducted by Ms. Gutierrez and was distracted by texting\/face timing family members and making videos for his family\u2019s enjoyment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As news broke of the new court filing on Tuesday, Baldwin\u2019s wife, Hilaria, was seen grabbing coffee in New York City and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/article-13544109\/Hilaria-Baldwin-smiles-NYC-Alec-Baldwin-Rust-shooting-trial.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"smiling at photographers\">smiling at photographers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Baldwin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/entertainment\/3029941\/alec-hilaria-baldwin-announce-reality-tv-series-coming-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"recently announced\">recently announced<\/a> the launch of a new reality show on TLC that will feature him and his family starting in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>If convicted, Baldwin, who has pleaded not guilty, could face up to 1 1\/2 years in prison on a charge of involuntary manslaughter.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new court filing claims Alec Baldwin was &#8220;engaged in horseplay with his gun&#8221; and &#8220;fired a blank round at a crew member&#8221; before the 2021 fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza on the Rust set.
