The\u200d victims,\u2063 previously tenants of Atwood,\u2062 included Rain Mancini and Phillip \u200cZilliot II, along with their two \u2063children,\u2063 Karma and Phillip III. The family had been \u2062reported \u200cmissing a\u200c week prior to\u2063 the discovery. Initially thought to be a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/newsom-passes-ebony-alert-law-for-missing-black-youth\/\" title=\"Newsom approves 'Ebony Alert' law to find missing black youth.\">missing persons\u200b case<\/a>, it escalated to homicide after the gruesome find. Atwood, who claimed self-defense stating that the couple attacked him, admitted to burning their bodies post-mortem. He is \u200dcurrently held without bail\u200c and faces charges of first-degree murder,\u2062 but additional \u200dcharges could\u200d follow depending on the medical examiner&#8217;s\u200c investigation.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/news\/\">  News <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/johnathanjones\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/johnathanjones\/%20\"><span>Johnathan Jones<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   June 19, 2024 at 8:42am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>A Florida man has been charged with murder after he allegedly killed a family of four that had been renting a home he owned and burned their remains in a fire pit on his property.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/locals-see-body-floating-pond-police-sent-retrieve-corpse-make-shocking-find-instead\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Police<\/a> say what had been a missing persons case became a homicide investigation when a man, a woman, and two children were found burned in the Hudson, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/man-arrested-targeting-florida-church-rampage-everything-sight-police\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florida<\/a>, yard of 25-year-old Rory Atwood.<\/p>\n<p>Hudson is located in Pasco County about 45 miles north of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/announcer-accurately-predicts-dramatic-walk-off-hr-right-tampa-bay-secures-historic-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tampa<\/a> and police said Atwood had rented a property to the family, who was reported missing last week.<\/p>\n<p>Last Friday, the Pasco Sheriff\u2019s Office\u00a0put out an alert on its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/facebook-used-facilitate-illegal-immigrants-infiltration-us-border-crossing-fake-work-credentials-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> page asking the public to help them find 26-year-old Rain Mancini and 25-year-old Phillip Zilliot II.<\/p>\n<p>Also missing were two children, Karma Zilliot age 6, and Phillip Zilliot III age 5.<\/p>\n<p>According to police and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2024\/06\/18\/rory-atwood-hudson-florida-quadruple-homicide-arrest\/74138102007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA Today<\/a>, Mancini and Phillip Zilliot II were at the home of Atwood on June 12 or June 13 just days after he evicted them from their home.<\/p>\n<p>Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco said at a news conference on Saturday that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/years-churches-burned-retaliation-dig-finds-no-human-remains-supposed-site-mass-grave\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">human remains<\/a> had been found at Atwood\u2019s home by a cadaver dog but that the investigation was ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>The discovery came after an initial search of the grounds yielded nothing suspicious.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Is America getting more dangerous?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Nocco asked anyone keeping up with the case to pray for the family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf there wasn\u2019t evil in this world, we wouldn\u2019t have to pray as much,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to the sheriff, Atwood claimed during an interview with investigators that 12 days after he evicted the family, the two adults showed up at his home and attacked him with a knife and a gun.<\/p>\n<p>Nocco explained the suspect claimed he shot both Mancini and Phillip Zilliot II during a fight.<\/p>\n<p>He said he dragged both of them to the backyard where a fire was already burning to dispose of their bodies.<\/p>\n<p>Atwood also allegedly admitted he burned a sofa in the fire pit as well as the gun that was used to shoot the couple. He also allegedly said he believed the couple\u2019s two missing children were dead and had already been burned in the fire.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-jump-ahead-of-police-on-motive-blame-trump-for-atlanta-mass-shooting-that-killed-eight\/\" title=\"Democrats Jump Ahead Of Police On Motive, Blame Trump For Atlanta Mass Shooting That Killed Eight\">suspect told police<\/a> he believed the children were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/lawmakers-aunt-brutally-murdered-prominent-author-arrested\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">murdered<\/a> by their parents before they entered his home.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators did not buy Atwood\u2019s account of the events and arrested him. He was charged with first-degree murder in the case of one \u201cJohn Doe,\u201d Nocco said.<\/p>\n<p>Nocco told reporters that the human remains found in the fire pit were so badly burned and damaged that the suspect would be charged with one murder until his county\u2019s medical examiner could determine exactly who was in the pit.<\/p>\n<p>But he said there was no doubt that bone fragments on the property were human.<\/p>\n<p>Atwood pleaded not guilty to murder at an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/missouri-man-charged-with-threatening-to-murder-2-us-congressmen\/\" title=\"Missouri Man Charged With Threatening to Murder 2 US Congressmen\">initial court appearance<\/a> on Monday and he is being held without bail.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>In just a few months, the world is going to change forever.
