He alleges that they wrongfully insinuated his and his deceased brother Paul&#8217;s involvement in the 2015 death of Stephen Smith, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-york-magazine-celebrates-female-sexual-self-mutilation\/\" title=\"New York Magazine Celebrates Female Sexual Self-Mutilation\">gay teen<\/a>, in South Carolina.\u200c Despite initial reports linking the brothers to the incident, Buster points out recent coverage suggesting that other individuals might be responsible. He claims that no <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-ama-wants-to-rip-your-womb-from-your-dead-body-and-stuff-it-between-a-delusional-mans-legs\/\" title=\"AMA seeks to transplant wombs postmortem for transgender individuals.\">law enforcement\u200b agency<\/a> has\u200b contacted him regarding the allegations. The lawsuit\u2063 particularly calls\u200c out a \u2064section of the documentary \u201cMurdaugh \u200bMurders: Deadly Dynasty,\u201d produced by\u200d Warner Bros. Discovery \u2063and aired on \u200bInvestigation \u200dDiscovery\u2062 and \u2062Discovery+, for implying his involvement\u200c in Smith&#8217;s murder. Buster is seeking legal redress for these defamation claims.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Buster Murdaugh, the only surviving son of convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh, has filed a lawsuit against Netflix, Warner Bros., and others for defamation.<\/p>\n<p>Buster, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-begged-family-member-to-watch-yourself-in-business-dealings-report\/\" title=\"Biden Begged Family Member To \u2018Watch Yourself\u2019 In Business Dealings: Report\">older brother<\/a> of Alex\u2019s murdered son Paul, filed <a href=\"https:\/\/publicindex.sccourts.org\/Hampton\/PublicIndex\/PIImageDisplay.aspx?ctagency=25002&#038;doctype=D&#038;docid=1718632583556-021&#038;HKey=6975568710966112116785777106701128710780737112249698711599477853897210478855379997710072971007885\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the suit<\/a> on Friday, alleging the defendants defamed him by insinuating he and Paul were behind the murder of a gay teen in South Carolina back in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The matter concerns the death of Stephen Smith, whose car ran out of gas on July 8, 2015. He was allegedly struck by a vehicle while walking along the road, but documentaries and news articles produced by the defendants alleged that Alex Murdaugh\u2019s sons were behind the death. More recently, Buster says in his lawsuit, outlets have reported on other individuals being responsible for Smith\u2019s death, and Buster has never been notified by anyone in law enforcement of any allegations against him for the killing.<\/p>\n<p>Buster alleges that these claims were included in the documentary, \u201cMurdaugh Murders; Deadly Dynasty,\u201d produced by Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. and aired on the Investigation Discovery channel, as well as the Discovery+ streaming channel. Buster\u2019s lawsuit claims that a 10-minute section of the documentary \u201cfalsely suggests and subtly accuses\u201d Buster of murdering Smith.<\/p>\n<p>Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc., and Warner Media Entertainment Pages, Inc., were also behind a three-part documentary titled \u201cLow Country: The Murdaugh Dynasty,\u201d which Buster says suggested he and others killed Smith with a baseball bat because he was gay. This documentary also alleged that Buster and Smith had a romantic relationship, which Buster says is \u201cuntrue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Buster is suing Netflix over its own documentary series \u201cMurdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal,\u201d which depicted a red-haired man with a baseball bat. Buster is known for his red hair. This documentary also included statements from participants saying, \u201cEveryone keeps coming up to me and saying it was the Murdaugh boys\u201d and \u201clistening to these statements, it is pretty clear; Stephen\u2019s death is intertwined with the Murdaughs,\u201d according to Buster\u2019s lawsuit. Buster is suing the Guardian\u2019s editor over his statements in the Netflix documentary, which allude to Buster\u2019s alleged involvement in Smith\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>Buster\u2019s father, Alex, is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/alex-murdaugh-sentenced-to-40-more-years-in-prison-for-federal-financial-crimes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">currently serving<\/a> consecutive life sentences for the murders of his wife, Maggie, and youngest son, Paul.\u00a0Murdaugh has denied killing his family members. In addition, Alex is serving decades-long sentences for financial crimes.
