The charges include forgery, fraud, and \u200dconspiracy. This legal action occurred during their arraignments \u2062on Tuesday, alongside \u200d15 other \u200cdefendants \u2063facing similar\u200b accusations. (AP Photo\/John Bazemore, Pool)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A state grand jury brought charges against the 18 defendants \u2014 among those charged include former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani and former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows. <\/p>\n<p>According to state prosecutors, 11 Trump supporters met at the Arizona GOP headquarters a month after the 2020 election, and they signed a certificate claiming to be Arizona\u2019s 11 electors to the Electoral College, but state officials had already certified the electors for President Joe Biden, who won the state by 10,457 votes.\u00a0 Arizona\u2019s GOP took a video of the \u201celectors\u201d signing the certificate, posted it<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AZGOP\/status\/1338600278459727872\"> on X<\/a>, and sent it to Congress and the National Archives.<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>Boris Epshteyn, advisor to former President Donald Trump, returns to the courtroom after a break in Trump\u2019s trial at Manhattan Criminal Court, May 20, 2024, in New York.
