This represents a 14.6% decrease from the 2023 viewership\u2062 of 4.12 million. Additionally, the ratings in the key demographic of 18-49 have\u200c also dropped, going from a 0.46 rating last year \u200bto \u200ca 0.41 this year. Despite this downturn, the \u2062viewership numbers were not \u2063as low as during the pandemic in 2021 when the\u2062 show did not even reach 3 million viewers. The 2016\u200b Tony Awards remain\u2064 the most successful in recent history, buoyed by the popularity of\u2064 &#8220;Hamilton&#8221; which helped draw more than\u2064 8 million viewers.\u200b It is also noted that the 2024 show \u200bcoincided with Father\u2019s Day, which may\u2064 have affected overall TV viewership, making it the least watched\u2062 Sunday night since 1987.
