However, there is a broad consensus against the idea of\u2064 offering \u2062executives financial incentives for meeting diversity\u200b targets. However, the vast majority agreed that paying executives more money for meeting diversity targets is a bad idea. <\/p>\n<p>Support for DEI, the framework that strives to increase opportunities for minorities in the workplace and higher education, splits largely along party lines, with 84% of Democrats saying the policies were good for companies compared to just 34% of Republicans saying the same, per the <em>Washington Post<\/em>-Ipsos poll.<\/p>\n<p>But outside of the context of political affiliation, the majority of black and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-choice-to-lead-dojs-civil-rights-division-melanin-endows-blacks-with-greater-mental-physical-and-spiritual-abilities-video\/\" title=\"Biden\u2019s Choice to Lead DOJ\u2019s Civil Rights Division: \u201cMelanin Endows Blacks with Greater Mental, Physical and Spiritual Abilities\u201d (VIDEO)\">white people<\/a>, when given a concrete definition of DEI, are in support of DEI initiatives, such as offering mentorship opportunities to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-york-times-claims-oscars-might-be-most-diverse-ever-but-problem-isnt-solved\/\" title=\"New York Times Claims Oscars Might Be \u2018Most Diverse Ever,\u2019 But \u2018Problem Isn\u2019t Solved\u2019\">underrepresented groups<\/a>, conducting anti-bias training, and efforts to recruit underrepresented groups. <\/p>\n<p>It is the action of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/un-american-express-anti-woke-group-takes-aim-at-credit-card-companys-race-based-hiring\/\" title=\"\u2018Un-American Express\u2019: Anti-Woke Group Takes Aim at Credit Card Company\u2019s Race-Based Hiring\">giving bonuses<\/a> to executives when they meet certain DEI thresholds that 75% of people polled were in agreement in opposing.<\/p>\n<p>Conservative activists have been targeting companies that offer DEI bonuses to executives; they believe this incentive system encourages executives to make hiring decisions based on a candidate\u2019s race to increase their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/38-iranian-dissidents-urge-biden-to-keep-trumps-pressure-on-despotic-regime\/\" title=\"38 Iranian Dissidents Urge Biden To Keep Trump\u2019s Pressure On Despotic Regime\">financial benefits<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Consulting firm Farient Advisors found that so far this year, 56 companies, including Best Buy Co., Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc., and Johnson &#038; Johnson, have either removed or deemphasized DEI when setting executive pay. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompanies and boards are especially trying to be careful when they\u2019re setting these goals,\u201d Brian Bueno, head of Farient\u2019s environmental, social, and governance practice, told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/news\/national\/2024\/06\/18\/780158.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><em>Insurance Journal<\/em><\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s possible we could see movement away from diversity or movement towards broader measures of human capital or workforce-related measures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In March, Starbucks investors voted by about 90% to remove DEI goals in compensation packages for its executives. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompensation should incentivize executives to drive long-term shareholder value, not to focus on irrelevant non-pecuniary factors,\u201d Justin Danhof, head of corporate governance for Strive, told the outlet.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Despite numerous lawsuits targeting universities with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, a new poll reveals that 60% of people view DEI positively.
