The preliminary\u2064 injunction prevents the U.S. Department of Education\u200b from enforcing\u2063 regulations that include protections\u2063 for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/more-than-100-new-york-city-public-school-students-identified-as-x-last-year-report\/\" title=\"Over 100 NYC Public School Students Identified as 'X' in 2020: Report\">transgender-identifying \u2063individuals<\/a>. \u200dThese changes were challenged by state officials who \u2063argued they were \u2062an overreach\u200c of federal power \u200cand infringed on states&#8217; rights.<\/p>\n<p>Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti described the court&#8217;s decision as a &#8220;big \u200bwin&#8221; for\u2064 constitutional \u2062governance, emphasizing the importance \u2062of the separation \u2064of powers and the role of elected representatives in law-making. The blocked regulations,\u200d set to be effective from August\u2064 1, \u2063would have required schools to \u2063allow access to facilities\u2062 based on gender identity and to\u200c enforce the use of preferred pronouns, \u200bboth measures contested\u200b by\u2063 the plaintiffs.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia Attorney\u200b General\u2063 Jason Miyares\u2063 and Governor also expressed \u200dtheir approval of the injunction, \u2063criticizing \u2062the Biden administration\u2019s \u2063actions \u200cas an\u2063 unlawful extension\u200d of federal authority and \u200da threat to \u200bwomen&#8217;s rights established since Title IX\u2019s inception in 1972.
