Bush. She\u200d described Alito as a radical influenced heavily by his views on religion and its role in\u2062 society, which she found alarming. Clinton opposed Alito&#8217;s nomination, expressing her concerns \u200dabout \u2063his extreme perspectives on the Senate floor. She also reflected on\u2062 John Roberts,\u2064 characterizing him as a conservative,\u200d corporate-oriented\u200d lawyer \u2062with a narrow life \u2064experience, which \u2063led\u200b her to vote against his \u200cnomination as well. Newsom lifts Calif. lockdown orders amid mounting backlash\">recent interview<\/a>, calling the conservative justice \u201cscary\u201d and \u201ca fanatic\u201d for his religious views.<\/p>\n<p>The former secretary of state and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee made the remarks in April during a podcast <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9UpNrRNL8Gw&#038;t=535s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a> with Democracy Docket\u2019s Marc Elias. Bush. And I found him scary, and I said so on the floor of the Senate when I voted against him,\u201d Clinton said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe got the judges that had been groomed, put into the pipeline to do what they are now doing,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Roberts and Alito are both lifelong Catholics. Unconscionable'\">conservative majority<\/a>, while Roberts is considered a swing vote on many cases.<\/p>\n<p>Alito has found himself headlining the news several times in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fed-found-economy-is-recovering-much-faster-than-officials-expected\/\" title=\"Fed Found Economy Is Recovering Much Faster Than Officials Expected\">recent months<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/05\/16\/us\/justice-alito-upside-down-flag.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pair<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/05\/22\/us\/justice-alito-flag-appeal-to-heaven.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports<\/a> from The New York Times said Alito\u2019s homes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/justice-alito-gives-his-side-of-story-on-the-neighborhood-spat-behind-nyt-flag-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">displayed<\/a> an upside-down American flag and an \u201cAppeal to Heaven\u201d flag, which people at the Capitol riot reportedly carried on January 6, 2021.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1716990157394000&#038;usg=AOvVaw33qQydjIo8bet419amChif\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Several Democrat senators subsequently demanded Alito recuse himself from cases involving the 2020 presidential election, which Alito <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/justice-alito-tells-democrat-senators-he-will-not-recuse-himself-from-supreme-court-cases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">refused<\/a> to do.<\/p>\n<p>Then, last week, Alito was secretly recorded by a liberal activist pretending to be a religious conservative who told Alito she does not think \u201cwe can negotiate with the Left.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne side or the other is going to win,\u201d Alito allegedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2024\/06\/10\/alito-secret-recordings-politcal-divide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">responded<\/a>, according to the recording, adding that there can be \u201ca way of living together peacefully,\u201d but \u201cthere are differences on fundamental things that really can\u2019t be compromised.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alito has been a particular target of the Left in the two years since he authored the court\u2019s opinion in overturning <em>Roe v.
