This occurred after \u200dHunter referred to his father, then\u2064 Vice President Joe\u2063 Biden, amidst the investigations. This spurred the House Oversight and Judiciary\u2064 Committees to seek explanations from SEC \u200dChair Gary Gensler \u200dabout why Hunter was excluded from charges that his associates faced. Hunter&#8217;s associates, Devon Archer and Jason Galanais, were charged for defrauding investors through fake Native American tribal bonds. Although the SEC subpoenaed Hunter and related Biden family business entities for evidence in March 2016, Hunter delayed providing the necessary documents. His legal team later requested confidentiality, stressing the potential \u200drepercussions for Hunter and his father if \u2064the investigation became public. On May \u206311, 2016, the SEC publicly charged several business \u2064partners but not Hunter.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p>The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in 2016 <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/GOPoversight\/status\/1803087847076888621\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">declined to charge<\/a> Hunter Biden alongside his business partners in a tribal bond scheme after he invoked his father\u2019s position as Vice President of the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>The House Oversight and Judiciary Committees are demanding answers from SEC Chair Gary Gensler after discovering that the agency tasked with investigating market manipulation left Hunter out of a sweeping indictment that befell his business partners shortly after he name-dropped his dad. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-155179642\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ced62900665bc5d1ae86a8eaf59bc8a4 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ced62900665bc5d1ae86a8eaf59bc8a4\"><\/div>\n<p>Hunter\u2019s longtime associates including Devon Archer and Jason Galanais were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/litigation\/litreleases\/lr-23689\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">indicted<\/a> by the federal government in 2016 for violating several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/securities-and-exchange-commission-issues-multiple-warnings-about-recent-stock-market-volatility\/\" title=\"Securities And Exchange Commission Issues Multiple Warnings About Recent Stock Market Volatility\">federal securities laws<\/a> when they defrauded investors \u201cin sham Native American tribal bonds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The vice president\u2019s son was among several of the Biden family business associates and entities subpoenaed by the SEC in March 2016 to hand over relevant evidence about the scheme, specifically \u201cconcerning Rosemont Seneca Bohai, LLC,\u201d by the end of the month. <\/p>\n<p>When the time came for Hunter to hand over key documents and communications to the SEC, he delayed. Nearly one month after the subpoena deadline on April 20, 2016, Hunter\u2019s lawyers responded to  the SEC, begging the agency to \u201ctreat this matter with the highest degree of confidentiality, consistent with Commission policy and applicable law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe confidential nature of this investigation is very important to our client and it would be unfair, not just to our client, but also to his father, the Vice President of the United States, if his involvement in an SEC investigation and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-gratuitously-invoked-fathers-name-in-sec-inquiry-house-republicans-say\/\" title=\"House Republicans claim Hunter Biden excessively used his father's name during an SEC investigation\">parallel criminal probe<\/a> were to become the subject of any media attention,\u201d Hunter\u2019s legal counsel wrote. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f035bcf5dd4403e9fa94ec4cfe47f578 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f035bcf5dd4403e9fa94ec4cfe47f578\"><\/div>\n<p>A few weeks later on May 11, 2016, the SEC publicly announced charges against several of Hunter\u2019s business partners but did not mention the Second Son.<\/p>\n<p>Republican investigators say there is no doubt that Rosemont Seneca Bohai LLC (RHB) \u201cwas directly implicated in the tribal bond scheme.\u201d Yet Hunter has tried to<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/05\/republicans-demand-doj-charge-hunter-and-james-biden-for-lying-about-joes-role-in-influence-peddling-scheme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> falsely distance himself from<\/a> the company despite documents and evidence confirming his history as RHB\u2019s corporate secretary. <\/p>\n<p>As the committees note in their letter, Hunter routinely used the RHB bank account to \u201cfunnel other foreign payments and benefits to [himself], including money from Ukraine and a new sports car from an oligarch in Kazakhstan\u201d that he obtained during his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/conservatives-doubtful-hunter-biden-will-actually-face-charges\/\" title=\"Conservatives Doubtful Hunter Biden Will Actually Face Charges\">international influence peddling<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Biden\u2019s response gratuitously invoked his father\u2019s position as the Vice President in<br \/>what could be interpreted as an effort to discourage further SEC scrutiny,\u201d the Republicans wrote. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4f392d69ddbdcea97c5f82e55d78e0e1 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4f392d69ddbdcea97c5f82e55d78e0e1\"><\/div>\n<p>To better understand the suspicious exchange between the SEC and Hunter, Republicans are demanding Gensler hand over \u201call documents and communications with the White House\u201d about Hunter, his business partners, and the entities involved in the 2016 defrauding scheme. The investigators also said they require a transcribed audience with Tejal D.
